Myles Anderson has been sacked off by Torquay United. Currently fighting relegation to the Conference South it seems his services are no longer required. Unless he's got a Premier League move lined up.

If his "career" stats don't have daddies finger prints all over it, I don't know what does

2011–2013 Blackburn Rovers 0 (0)
2012  Aldershot Town (loan) 5 (0)

Not too much of a surprise, Rhodes was an Ipswich academy product and went to school here too. He's lost his way so coming home for a while to refocus and try to kick start his career must have seemed like a good idea.

McGoldrick is a good player on his day but has a lot of injury problems.

Rhodes on the end of McCarthy's style of play ?

Destined to fail you'd imagine.

His wage at Wednesday must be considerable. Can't imagine Ipswich would have been able to pay it without heavy subsidies from Wednesday. If they were prepared to let him go it seems their new manager has quickly decided he's not a fan.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if it worked out. On the other hand, Bowyer's tactics weren't that much different to Mick's and Rhodes bagged a lot of goals here, so, who knows?

Ipswich are well known for having a wage cap of around £10k pw, so yeah, they would have been paying a low percentage of Rhodes' overall wage.

Mcarthy plays a pretty passing game. His Ireland team in 2002 was the nicest I have ever seen an Ireland team play. Granted we had an entire team of Premier league players, most top 10 , including a couple of world class players(well we had 1 of them for the qualifying before he sulked off, but that's another story ;) )

Mcarthy is nothing if not pragmatic. He will use what he has at his disposal pretty effectively. If he signed Rhodes, I bet he would get the best out of him.

I can assure you he doesn't play a pretty passing game at Ipswich  the football is dreadful, but in his defence he's working with poor players and making the best out of the situation. If he goes in the summer then I could easily see Ipswich struggling to stay up by this time next season.

Just shows how bonkers the thinking in football is when you have these managers paying the huge sums to secure a player like Rhodes and pay his wages yet they don't set up their teams to play to his proven strengths but just try and slot him in.

Do they actually do any homework or are some more interested in getting a kick back from it or something ? We know Rhodes limitations but we also know what he can do it's a shame he's completely going to waste now.

Agree if Mick has the brains and boldness to tailor the team to him he'll probably get goals again.

He wouldn't sign him otherwise. Far too practical for that.

Completely agree about the succession of mangers who have signed him(or had him signed for them) and have completely failed to grasp what he can actually do

Rhodes belongs at Ewood⚽️

If he was going to revive his career anywhere it would be here, a pipe dream though :( Bring back Rudy and Rhodes, still have nightmares about that season, the form we were in we looked like making the play offs until we lost to the Dingles and Bournemouth and then drew with yeovil at home which fooked it for us. That season with them two firing goals in for fun was our chance. A young Michael Keane, Duffy and Hanley at the back, Cairney in midfield with Conway at his best also. Jesus we should have gone up with that side.

There was talk of Birmingham mutually terminating his deal so that he could go elsewhere, but looks like they're saddled with him until the end of the season. I dread the day he becomes a free agent again, though.

Hopefully Bowyer takes one for the team and signs him up for the tangerines. Him and Jay Spearing in the middle of the park, getting the band back together again....

Hah, yeah, don't forget big Nathan Delfouneso banging in the goals up top. Blackpool fans will come flocking back in no time.

Lowe got a glowing report in the Birmingham papers after his cup appearance. Might have worked his way back in to the managers thoughts, hopefully.

We should all be wary of glowing reports from journalists it's so easy for an unsuspecting public to be taken for a ride.
