deryck guyler's spoon Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 As I'm exiled on the other side of the world I'm quite jealous that I'm missing out of this lad - I'm back home for Christmas, knowing my luck he'll be bloody injured! Quote

He devotes a page of his autobiography to extol the virtues of Bryan Douglas who he obviously rated extremely highly, which was lovely to read. Regarding Dack, the first time I saw him play for us I remarked to my son that he physically reminds me very strongly of Best. Same colouring, body swerve and running style. Not as mobile, but if you put the famous Fulham versus Hereford game from 1976 featuring Rodney Marsh and Best into YouTube, Dack is strongly reminiscent of Georgie at that time. You are of course quite right about him being unfit to lace Best' s boots, but in all honesty not many were. Absolute genius. Absolutely love Bradley by the way! Jimmy was playing ( well watching really ) that day Dougie and the Rovers ran the all conquering Spurs team ragged. He was absolutely unstoppable and laid on several of the 7 goals we scored that afternoon. In fact I think Greaves scored one of the 2 Spurs got. Legend has it that Bill Nicholson the Spurs manager approached the Rovers management in the boardroom after the game and offered to pay £110,000 for Dougie. The British record at the time was the £115,000 that Utd had paid for Dennis Law. Even Greaves himself had only cost Spurs £99,999. Dougie had been a bit unsettled at the time but thankfully we turned the offer down. I consider myself to have been privileged to have been there that day. We were jaw droppingly good and on another day we could have scored 10. I've seen some great performances over the years but that tops the bill for me. 4 Quote
roversoutsider Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Just curious but how much do you guys think Dack is worth given the current market scenario? A good season and we could easily look at 10m Quote

Neal Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 (edited) 10 million??? We'd have been robbed if they sold him for that, nowhere near what we should be asking. Maddison went to Leicester for 20 million quid, scored 14 goals last season from midfield, Dacky already has 2 in the league. I think TM will be well aware of that if we get any calls about him. Backroom Popular Post Madon Posted August 20, 2018 Backroom Popular Post Posted August 20, 2018 If Bradley Dack left this club for anything less than 20 million quid I would be seriously pissed off!! 10 Quote

TruRover Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 If Dack continues to be a success in the championship there is no doubt that he is worth 20 million. We will do well to keep him for next season imo. Quote

islander200 Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 He will be here till January at least let's just keep putting points on the board and see where we are when January comes around.Be a bit stupid to sell your talisman for 10 million and then go out and buy a talent but at the same time it's potential it is a gamble for 6 million just so you could pocket 4 million Dack could be the new Jordan Rhodes for Nixon next week it will be Wigan's new owners are ready to bankroll a move for Dack But in fairness we all know Dack won't be here forever unless we get promoted or are at least challenging if a premier league club comes in for him he prob ably will want to move 1 Quote
