The date was 26th March 1988 and I was 8 (30 years ago. How times flies). We lost 3-0 that day. We were in League two and the attendance was 12,359. Rovers in League Two.....please don't give Venky's any ideas.

In the team that day was a certain Ossie Ardilles. Who was tearing Plymouth apart until they kicked him out of the game and broke his leg. A certain Nicky Marker featuring in this. A bit of Rovers Trivia. Ardiles is one of only three ex-Rovers players to have played in a World Cup final. Can you name the over two? I was there too that day, it was a bloody long drive home. I don't think Archibald played that day for some reason but could be wrong. It was more than compensated for 4 years later on 'Speedie' day, when we also relegated Plymouth if memory serves correct. I'm hoping to make it in a fortnight but won't be doing a round trip in the day as I did back then, must be sommat to do with age!

I'll be home before 7pm, probably stop for a pint as well
Gav Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Spent quite a bit of time in Plymouth over the past 6 months, decent city. Drinking wise The Barbican is the place to be, down by the harbour, full of bars and places to eat, 10 minutes walk from Plymouth Hoe and £10 taxi ride to ground.
