Husky Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 On the evidence of that game we're back to the early season form and sack Mowbray phase. Spineless!

Bigdoggsteel Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Ouch, that shrewsbury result is a hammer blow. Oh well,we go again. Lots of prayers to come back in Mowbray got it wrong today. His set up gave plymouth the initiative

davulsukur Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Oh, sweet dark mother, once again I suckle at your losing teat.
dallydally Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Shrewsbury have game in hand too so could be 5 points ahead of Rovers. ??

Rarely concede more than one goal. We make life much harder for ourselves by being so weak at the back. Mowbray should be asked directly by reporters why Shrewsbury and Wigan are so much better at defending than us, but as Gavlar said, not holding my breath on that.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 3, 2018 Moderation Lead Posted February 3, 2018 So, if Shrewsbury win their game in hand on us, they’re 5 points ahead again. Back to square one again. Fantastic. We’ve out Roversed ourselves!

It’s the ground that zaps the energy off the players and causes TM’s brains to be left behind at Ewood

He’s deserved to be awarded an off day, but he needs dragging over the coals for those subs. They didn’t give us a chance of getting back into it.
LewisF Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 It’s results like conceding late at Oldham, surrendering the lead twice to both Scunthorpe and Fleetwood at home, conceding late at Rotherham that have gotten us into this position. Fair enough every team will have their bad days but ours are far too many for an automatic promotion hopeful
USABlue Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Shrews go ahead late, winning mentality not overly cautious that's how you get it done.

davefarnworth Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Shrewsbury will give us the playoff blues. Happy times ahead with Tinkerman. Hope he knows his best team by then (and his true defenders are back). Not good

Massively disappointing, we only have ourselves to blame, up to second and then take four points from Northampton, Walsall and Plymouth - abysmal return

Roboftherovers82 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 we get play offs at best even then i dnt fancy our chances with the defence we got and tm with his tactics with the squad we have we are totally under performing look like we soon be back to 5 points at shrewsbury due to all our massive @#/? ups pissed off is not the word to use
Bigdoggsteel Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 We could slip right out of it very easily. Need a win next game.
GreenRover Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Potentially 5 points of Shrewsbury now. I felt after we got ahead of Shrewsbury on the table that we thought they would fade off. Doesn't look like that. We seem to be struggling to put teams to bed. Defence needs to be sorted. Can't keep clean sheets. Thought we were getting carried away with trying to catch Wigan and presume Shrewsbury would fall away. Forget about winning the league Wigan too good to slip up. We will have to scrap and scratch to get to second. All to do now to get automatic promotion. Disappointing day. No fight in the lads today for some reason.

We wouldn't handle the pressure.
Stuart Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 That long diagonal ball from Downing DOES NOT WORK. He needs to stop doing that, pronto. Samuel just cannot finish or look like finishing. We are abysmal without Mulgrew. For all the “great” recruitment this season, we have no depth in defence. Sending Wharton out on loan was unbelievably short-sighted and sending Ward out without replacing him is just trying to hide him under the rug - and failing given the Ward-shaped rug space that has been left behind. At 2-0 down we bring on Evans! That just about sums up Mowbray. I’m starting to think that this team plays well simply because of motivation from the captain and has nothing to do with Mowbray’s tactics! He is too busy trying to keep everyone happy rather than being one-eyed about promotion. And he is overly reliant on a converted midfielder with an injury record. The wheels fell off at the end of last season when we lost Mulgrew and Lenihan. This needs to NOT happen again this season. Against shitter opposition.
tomphil Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 Sadly we've seen todays approach to a game all too often but normally the big players step up to the plate and turn it around and also usually there is a positive reaction to going behind from team and manager, that's why we've been unbeaten for so long. If we approached every game like Shrews or Wigan we'd surely be comfortably second. Non of that today but the run had to end sometime I suppose so the onus is back on him and them to start positive again so they'll get back on it i'm sure. Shouldn't have to take something like this though to shake up such an experienced manager. It's not the defeat it was going to happen sooner or later it's the poor manner of it when so much rests on each game !!!
