philipl Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Got a really bad feeling about this having see that selection. More positional, formation and personnel mucking about. Bury are a threat only if we make them one and you can practically smell the fear in that choice.

neophox Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Didnt Mowbray learned he needed Payne last time around ..Oldham draw...:(
Bigdoggsteel Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Pretty much our strongest team if whittingham was in place of Evans. I predict goals!

Exiled in Toronto Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 I got the impression Payne was signed as cover for Dack, who is currently undroppable, fit and not suspended. Pity Travis got himself sent off, I think he would have started today ahead of Evans.
AdamRochina Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 If it works fine but if it doesn't then I would as an owner warn him of his constant @#/?ing tinkering and if he fails to get us up with this team he never deserves to manage again

Are we trying for the 0-0? How?We are playing a front two with Dack in behind? We don't have any creative wingers in the squad so I can see why he is playing with wing backs. Armstrong looks a lot more dangerous playing up top rather than left of a three behind. Only negative for me is Evans playing. Would have put Bennett alongside Smallwood and Nyambe at wing back

Out of the players we have, those are the best players for that role. Although I'm not entirely convinced by Bell yet. My one gripe is Evans offers little creativity in the middle. I’m not convinced either can play that role. With Dack and Armstrong on board I don’t think we necessarily need more creativity in the middle. Just a couple of enforcers. Will be watching with interest tonight. And if we don’t get an early goal probably through my fingers!

philipl Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Hope I am wrong but I have a premonition of a repeat of "I should have selected Payne" in the post match comments.
jim mk2 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 People will moan at any line- up (I'd always have Payne in the team) but that looks an attacking team to me with Bennett and Bell given licence to get up and down the flanks. Armstrong is the key - those goals at Pompey will have boosted his confidence no end. Fancy him to score tonight.

The side TM has selected. It’s the side I predicted he’d go for minus Nyambe for Evans. I did say Williams is undroppable for Mowbray though. Let’s see this 3-5-2 firing then, Tony. Good options on the bench but let’s hope we don’t need them!
Backroom Tom Posted February 19, 2018 Backroom Posted February 19, 2018 Bit of a buzz around, real belief we will be top come ten o clock! Come on boys

OxSouthernRover Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Not a fan of Evans but we'll see how it goes. Would've liked to see Payne but I reckon we should run the show in midfield.
perthblue02 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Didn't realise Stuart Ripleys son is at Bury on loan
Gogger Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Looks more like a very defensivly 5-3-2-1. Armstrong defo not playing up front.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Not exactly come out of the traps firing. Need to get some tempo to our play - too slow and predictable so far. They look reasonably quick on the counter too.

Backroom Mike E Posted February 19, 2018 Backroom Posted February 19, 2018 Watching a different game! Playing some decent stuff imo, just need to get to box more often. Need the wing backs to overlap more.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Too much onus on Dack. This is when we could do with a Chapman or Payne on too so they can’t double up.
AdamRochina Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 predictable so far.. Keeping the ball but not creating much
