Backroom DE. Posted February 19, 2018 Backroom Posted February 19, 2018 Wigan staying in the FA Cup would be perfect for us.
G Somerset Rover Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Well and wins a win, but boy did Mowbray make hard work of that. Obviously delighted with the 3 points and being top of the pile, but it’s very frustrating to see us play so well once the formation and change of personnel happened. If we’d set up like that it would have been game over before half time. Payne must start, as a minimum, every home game, while Dack needs wrapping in cotton wool as he’ll be the difference in us playing either League One or Championship football next season. He’s a class above and then some. Just stop over thinking Tony. You really aren’t as clever as you think you are. Let’s take the 3 points and move on.
Backroom Tom Posted February 19, 2018 Backroom Posted February 19, 2018 Easy in the end, awful opposition but took some Dack magic to get us going
Give 'Em the Axe Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Smashing. Much better in the second half. What an exquisite pass from Dack for Graham's goal.
Reedy You're A Star Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Excellent result. First half not great, much better when we brought Payne on. Hopefully the 3-5-2 experiment has been put to bed now. Top of the league, couldn't ask for much more.
Butty Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Once again, we play poorly BUT WE WIN. Keep them coming lads, and also... F**K THE 3-5-2. COYB
Backroom DE. Posted February 19, 2018 Backroom Posted February 19, 2018 Terrible first 60 minutes. Once we got the second and brought Payne on we settled down and looked much better. Dack was the difference tonight, as he has been so many times this season. We're very fortunate to have him.
Roboftherovers82 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 didt play great tonight i hope it much better on saturday we been poor last few games time to kick on and get top 2
Backroom Tom Posted February 19, 2018 Backroom Posted February 19, 2018 Mowbray maybe got it wrong but we won and are top thats all we could do. He has to learn from it though as we won't get many games against teams that bad. Lovely to take the chance and do our bit of the deal for once

islander200 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Dack is just class. How he is still playing in league 1 is beyond me. Really don't want to see Evans in the blue and white halves again. Payne was excellent when he came on.

Shame, something wobbly going on in his head there.
davulsukur Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Shouldn’t even be in TM’s mind to ever play 3-5-2 again, awful. Evans is done, a truly abysmal effort from him tonight. Can’t make an impression against 2nd bottom of league one. Williams is also poor, he’s lucky to have made it to 50 games in a row.

briansol Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Just now, MGPensioner said: wigan win Excellent news! They will be further distracted and Powell went off with a hamstring injury as well.
Roboftherovers82 Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 how wigan have won it no idea they where totally outplayed whole match but fair play

G Somerset Rover Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Huge confidence boost for Wigan but that’s one massive distraction for them now. Two big results for us tonight for me.
Guest Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Yep, good result, and first clean sheet this year. I've seen us play bad halves with 4-4-2 and 4-5-1; not sure how much the 3-5-2 had to do with a poor first half, or how much it had to do with the clean sheet (Bury were largely shooting from outside the penalty area, despite the favourable-looking stats), but I think that will be Mowbray's preferred choice. Banana skin dealt with, onto the next!
neophox Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Wigan fought hard and had alot of luck and City played with 10 men second half... well Done but our 3 points is more important!
