matt83 Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 I went year before last on a works jolly. Considering it’s billed as a lavish meeting there’s a strange mix of blokes covered in tweed but also a significant Irish chavy element quaffing Guinness. Chavs not as noticeable as the grand national or Epsom if you’ve ever been there. Plus I doubt you’ll see the journalists aintree ladies day favourite of the gals whammed complete with the security ankle tag. Can’t say I’ve ever won money on the nags but I did learn the favourite always loses in the supreme novibe hurdle (first race on day one). So be warned.
Mattyblue Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Went yesterday, had a good win on the first, Summerville Boy, not so good after that! Think it's 6 times I've been now, first time on a Tuesday this year, usually go for Gold Cup day, personally think it's fantastic, both within the course and the town.
