Stuart Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Lenihan’s back must have been worse than first thought. Payne on the bench again. Time for Antonsson to step up.
Preben Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 That team will do for me, glad to see Williams and not Bell but I don't know what Payne needs to do to get a start and thought he or Conway might have played instead of Antonsson
Ossydave Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 I think it's wise to not play Lenihan on a soggy pitch carrying a knock. Pretty sure he could have played if we were desperate.
Bigdoggsteel Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Hopefully this is Lenihans last game out. Seemed like an impact injury, so probably just sore I thought Antonsson worked hard and got in good positions the last game. Not really about him "stepping up" just taking a chance if he gets one. Like he was before he got injured I would have preferred Williams at centre half and bell left back. I thought downings distribution the last day was atrocious.
FGS5635 Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Didn't think he would start payne away from home. Antonsson baffles me, which hopefully means he will score 2 and prove me wrong.

He's been subbed from there every time he's started on the right. Unless you want to drop Dack?

He was dreadful Thursday. Missed an absolute sitter with his head and then rolled another into the keepers arms from inside the box.

By and large we play with a much better tempo when Dack, Armstrong and Payne are on the pitch together.

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 I would have put Williams in as a centre back and Bell at left back. I wouldn't be starting Antonnson either. He's in there because a few months back he got a few goals, not on current ability. In an away game it'd be either Payne or Conway for me.

Armstrong was far worse, the build up to Conways goal aside

Miker Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Harsh on Conway and Payne not to get a starting spot ahead of Antonsson, but other than that team looks as expected. Not convinced by Bell so far from what I've seen, so not fussed that he's not playing.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 That's a very experienced squad on the bench.
Bigdoggsteel Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Great to have graham's craftiness and experience back. The 3 behind him could cause serious damage if on their game. Is what's his name playing for them, centre half who left us? Not very good, slow? Hopefully he is

Miker Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 https://twitter.com/richsharpe89/status/980785192297205760 I don't think I can ever complain about a team sheet again after seeing that.

I think he’s there, particularly in away games, for his pace, which keeps a defender or two out on his side, the fact he puts in a shift giving Williams a modicum of cover, and his ghosting in at the back post. Technically though, I completely agree with you.
