After the first game of the season against Stoke I thought you would go straight up but some indifferent results and performances put doubt in my mind. Last night's performance was full of intensity, pace and skill. And the performance seemed to inspire the crowd. 1 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Leeds show how good they were. The owner, DoF and Head coach deserves loads of credit and last night performance was classed. Quote
JHRover Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Smart recruitment at Leeds over a few seasons. Not a mega budget just sensible investment and exploitation of the European market. Some baffling managerial decisions and instability but get the right one and the results come immediately. Shows 'stability' isn't necessarily all it is cracked up to be. 1 Quote
blueboy3333 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Bamford at £7m was an excellent signing. Proven goalscorer at this level and a quality footballer. If he hadn't been injured Leeds would have more points on the board. Quote
AllRoverAsia Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 West Brom were rubbish, too much long ball. 1 Quote

If you mean because he will probably cost £4m+ extra in wages and be on far, far more than even our best players then you’re right. Think what you want about BB but comparing his to the Bamford signing helps nobody. Quote

Backroom DE. Posted March 2, 2019 Backroom Posted March 2, 2019 West Brom's defence has been their achilles heel all season and it's why they're likely to end up fighting it out in the playoffs. 47 goals conceded makes them the weakest defence out of the top 9. They've only conceded five more goals over the season than we have - they just score a lot more than us. Quote

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Yeah we always start off like a house on fire as well ! Quote
Backroom DE. Posted March 2, 2019 Backroom Posted March 2, 2019 Another bad day for Frank Lampard FC. Some serious problems emerging there. Quote
Backroom DE. Posted March 2, 2019 Backroom Posted March 2, 2019 Ipswich also effectively relegated today with a 2-1 home defeat to Reading, combined with us gifting Rotherham three points. 23,000 on though which is impressive considering the awful season they're having. I think there was a cheap ticket promotion on though which obviously helped. James Collins went off injured again. Such is the risk of bringing in older players who haven't played in a while - exactly why I was against bringing Huth in, think it would have been a similar story. Quote

Norbert Rassragr Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Leeds fans can try to be nice and constructive, but ultimately they're nasty Yorkshire puss bags wanting to fight and generally be horrible. A northern Millwall. It must have something to do with being Jimmy Savile's home town. Quote
Mattyblue Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 (edited) Getting to the end game at Bolton you feel. Staff still not paid, monthly direct debits for season tickets not taken and now training ground shut as no food or drink... https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/17474243.shutdown-bolton-close-training-ground-because-of-food-shortage/ Edited March 4, 2019 by Mattyblue Quote

It must surely be getting to a stage where they can't even complete their fixtures. If you can't pay players or staff, can't run a training ground and can't collect direct debits then the mechanics of hosting league fixtures must be tough. Quote

They'll still be playing whilst the stadium is being taken apart to make way for flats, having to weave through cranes and wheelbarrows. Quote

Would be really kicking them when they are down Maybe, but do you not think that it is unfair on Reading/Rotherham/Millwall and maybe even us if things carry on at this rate? Most clubs have their houses in order and pay their staff and bills. Why is it fair that Bolton could yet survive and someone else get relegated when everyone else pays their debts and wages and Bolton don't yet keep getting away with it? 1 Quote
