SBlue Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Should be a good night in Sheffield town centre watching Rovers v Norwich on Sky... Straight after the game at the Lane, we play kingmakers - could have a few hundred more bouncing supporters with me Quote

yellowsubmarine Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 Excited about the Norwich game. Playing against a potential Championship champion. Norwich will most likely will secure their Premiership status. Will be good motivation for our boys if we have any intentions next season to mount any playoff hopes. Lets hope we can give it a good game. Quote

They will want it far more than we do but if we do manage to snatch anything from it, it would be an excellent result. Quote

We can give the younger players a game against Swansea at home. 1 Quote

In my lifetime we’ve never been the sort of club to turn up and spoil a party, I think we’ll get beat but with the way we’ve played the last four games I’ll expect us too give them a game.. Like you say, coming away with anything would be a great result for us. Quote
Bigdoggsteel Posted April 23, 2019 Posted April 23, 2019 It's a good game to have. I hope our players look around and think "this could be us next season if are more consistant" 3 Quote

Meanwhile the 'competition organisers' EFL let the show continue. I hope, if this game doesn't go ahead, that they start Bolton on minus points next season. I expect they'll do nothing except release some vague statement about them speaking to the relevant people. Not really a surprise. One look at Bassini and you have to wonder how and where he has got the sort of money needed to bail Bolton out of their debts. Quote

Can't blame them. Must be soul destroying to play for them at the moment. All things considered they have actually shown a lot of professionalism. They haven't really gotten hammered and they kept fighting. Edited April 26, 2019 by Bigdoggsteel 3 Quote
JHRover Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Does anyone know what happens if their players stick to their threat and refuse to play their final 2 games of the season? Not clear if it is just their senior squad doing this or every registered player. Clearly if it is the former then they can fulfil their fixtures by chucking in the academy kids. If it's the latter then it will create a mess for the League to sort out. Presumably Brentford and Forest would be awarded the 3 points and the games wouldn't go ahead. Would Bolton face additional sanctions or just start afresh next season? Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Big doubts about this Bassini character looks like out of the frying Pan... Quote
Backroom Tom Posted April 26, 2019 Backroom Posted April 26, 2019 Bolton bit even mentioned that the match may be in doubt! Bassini promises wages will be paid today, must be doing a bank transfer into each account as can’t imagine any banks are open Quote

They don’t have anything left to borrow against do they? Quote
Backroom Tom Posted April 26, 2019 Backroom Posted April 26, 2019 He doesn’t even own them yet so risky business paying them Quote

Backroom Tom Posted April 26, 2019 Backroom Posted April 26, 2019 Apparently he’s not even allowed to pay them, he knows this most likely and is doing it to get some easy points with the Bolton fans. They seem to be lapping up his ‘passion’ on twitter so it’s working 1 Quote

Backroom Tom Posted April 26, 2019 Backroom Posted April 26, 2019 If they fall for his words then more fool them, the whole thing with the shirt and saying he’s been offered £20m more than he’s paying for it is just ridiculous. The whole interview is PR stage managed again by Jim White, showing a bit of resistance to give Bassini the platform to show how much he cares. 2 Quote

He looks and sounds pissed. If he was desperate to sort the players wages and ensure the game goes ahead what is he doing in a Sky studio speaking to White? It's going to end in tears. Quote
JHRover Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Join the dots time. Sky Sports - Jim White - Laurence Bassini - Jerome Anderson - Sky Sports All goes round in one big circle. All know each other. Remember Bassini saying he'd been offered Rovers before taking over at Watford? Stinks. He seems to be under the influence of something. Cant get my head around the Dave Richards references. Very strange. 1 Quote
