As part of a new podcast series - "Revisionist Rovers" - we look at different characters, eras and events from Blackburn Rovers history and bring fresh perspective.

In this, the first episode, we take a look back at the impact and legacy of Ken Furphy upon Blackburn Rovers, through the pen of Jim Wilkinson.

It should drop in iTunes feeds soon - but can also be accessed here :-

The Furphy topic is mint! Takes me back to my first memories of going to the Rovers, I was there at the Shay, Southend at 7.00am, and the MTH concert lol. Brilliant!

As a fan born in the 90’s that podcast was a great history lesson. Thanks ?

Have you listened to the Podcast on the Kendall time at Rovers? A 3 parter gem with text again by Jim Wilkinson.

Only listened to the Ken Furphy one so far. Loved it.

It really captures the revivalism of those times. Tony Field, Kit Napier and Johnny Price...wonderful memories!. Gutted, when Furphy went to Sheffield and kept coming back for our players. One of my mates compared the fans in those days to the disciples after the crucifixion. He was never one for understatement!

I remember a very sarcastic letter in the LET, saying how we might as well change our name to Sheffield Utd Reserves.

But-not unlike that darkest of days at at Selhurst Park, you can never know what joys are around the corner...with Gordon Lee...
