jim mk2 Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 I think we'll take the lead tomorrow but go down 2-1. Hope I'm wrong but it's going to be a tough old season. Quote

I just don't fancy us for this one, as somebody else said we rarely start the season well. Whatever skill they lack Hurst will have them make up for in effort and organisation. Saw us win there 2-1 or 3-1 back in the 1970s/80s (Chris Price had a great game). Quote
chaddyrovers Posted August 3, 2018 Posted August 3, 2018 Rovers 2 nil..Dack and Bennett to score Quote

Optimistic for season overall but not this game, or the first 4 or 5, we don't do well there. 2-1 tractor boys Edited August 4, 2018 by USABlue Quote
Scratch Andy Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Going to the game, already down here working and it is 22 degrees before 0800am !! (Don't forget your sunscreen) Can't wait, like a youngster on xmas morning. New ground for me and hopefully a Rovers win, COYB 2 Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 (edited) It's going to be hard work today if the weather is anything like the forecast. I'd take a draw now but I fear a 2-1 loss. Edited August 4, 2018 by Tyrone Shoelaces Quote

RV Blue Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Evans Smallwood Bennett Dack Palmer Graham When Arma is back, put Bennett to CM instead of Evans and Armstrong RW. Top half team in my opinion, although we could do with a few more options. 1 Quote

Tormund Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I’d take a draw to start off with, definitely. Palmer won’t start yet I wouldn’t have thought. I think we’ll see him for the last 30 minutes. Quote

They had a bit of everything. They took Alan Hunter off us about that time. Nobody mentions him now but what a good centre half he was. A hard lad who could play football. toogs Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Why isn't Palmer fit to play? Hasn't he done a pre-season with Chelsea? And if he has a niggle, why was he banging full blooded shots in the rovers training clip I saw the other day? Quote
Backroom DE. Posted August 4, 2018 Backroom Posted August 4, 2018 My parents called earlier to let me know they were staying in the same hotel as the Rovers team. Unfortunately they didn't recognise any of them except Tony Mowbray my dad said he had a chat with a player who had "wavy black hair" and a Northern accent, I'm guessing Danny Graham, and said he was a top bloke. Sadly by the time they called me they were already back at their room, so I couldn't get them to ask anybody anything useful! A win today would be a huge boost in momentum going into the new season. I really think we have a chance today to put a marker down and show what we're about. Much like in previous seasons Ipswich are nothing to fear, especially now that McCarthy is gone. There will be no better time, imo, to take three points from Portman Road. Fingers crossed. 1 Quote
Pedro Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Most-likely outcome: A narrow loss. Dodgy decisions. An injury or red card to an important player and message board meltdown this evening. Quote

islander200 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Be nice to start the season with 3 points. 1-2 Rovers Dack and Mulgrew to score. Quote
LewisF Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 (edited) I’d personally go: Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Bennett Smallwood Samuel Dack Palmer Graham Or in the event of the dreaded 5 at the back: Raya Lenihan Mulgrew Williams Nyambe Bennett Smallwood Bell Dack Palmer Graham (which to be fair at least has Palmer in his natural position) Edited August 4, 2018 by LewisF Quote
