I think we'll take the lead tomorrow but go down 2-1.  Hope I'm wrong but it's going to be a tough old season.

Might try the 7 day free trial fir ESPN+.  Does anyone know of any reason I could not watch the game in the free trial sometimes deals like that have limited access.

Optimistic for season overall but not this game, or the first 4 or 5, we don't do well there.  2-1 tractor boys

Jason Dozzell could cause problems too. Actually, there is a Dozzell playing for this Ipwsich - guess he is related?

Top half team in my opinion, although we could do with a few more options.

They've had some good players over the years down there. The teams Bobby Robson had with the like of Beattie, Mills, Thyssen and Muhren , Mariner, etc were top class.

I think he’ll be on the bench, but I’d rather have a half fit Palmer than a fully fit Samuel.

Palmer won’t start yet I wouldn’t have thought. I think we’ll see him for the last 30 minutes.

Yeah, that was a good side with great balance. They had a bit of everything.  They took Alan Hunter off us about that time. Nobody mentions him now but what a good centre half he was. A hard lad who could play football.

Why isn't Palmer fit to play? Hasn't he done a pre-season with Chelsea?

And if he has a niggle, why was he banging full blooded shots in the rovers training clip I saw the other day?

My parents called earlier to let me know they were staying in the same hotel as the Rovers team. Unfortunately they didn't recognise any of them except Tony Mowbray  my dad said he had a chat with a player who had "wavy black hair" and a Northern accent, I'm guessing Danny Graham, and said he was a top bloke. Sadly by the time they called me they were already back at their room, so I couldn't get them to ask anybody anything useful!

A win today would be a huge boost in momentum going into the new season. I really think we have a chance today to put a marker down and show what we're about. Much like in previous seasons Ipswich are nothing to fear, especially now that McCarthy is gone. There will be no better time, imo, to take three points from Portman Road. Fingers crossed.
