@Rovers are to sign Dylan McGeouch on pre-contract from @HibsOfficial ✍️

The attacking midfielder was their Player of the Year! - This is a rumour, nothing solid behind it!

What’s your thoughts on the player? [Source: @HFCTransferNews ] https://t.co/1F9yR5JXy7

Yep mentioned that in the last thread.

Very tidy player. A poor mans Marco Veratti

If we are going for out of contract Scotland internationals, Oli McBurnie would be a good shout. Think Derby are hot on his trail though.

Nixon says he's been watched (presumably by Rovers affiliated scouts) but thinks Mowbray isn't fully convinced.

Hibs message boards saying he has signed with us. Cracking signing

Will wait for the official announcement but if he's as good as you say he is, sounds very promising.

How old is he?

Isnt Carey 30 years old and not quick?

He's 28, soon to be 29. Don't know whether he's quick or not though, not seen much of him. Alex Neil and Peter Ridsdale have been scouting him recently though.

Cultured left foot, plays in the hole. Being quick in his role isn't that important.

Well, if this is true - TM is already at work. Great stuff, we normally have to wait until a week before the end of the window before anything is done.

Sounds like a good footballing CM with injury problems, who keeps the ball well but lacks drive. He's the new Evans:)

Dictates play and the tempo of the game from what I hear. Solid passer but not too much of a scorer or assister. Hibs fans love him and he was their POTY - so must be something in him.

Glaswegian Iniesta apparently - hope thats more accurate than the Scottish Rooney.

He sounds just what we need. Whittingham was brought in to do the same job but he was off the pace.

Yep, hope its true. Sounds a solid signing, especially on a pre-contract. Called up for Scotland recently too and was apparent interest from Celtic. Could work well alongside Smallwood doing the gritty side of things while this guy knocks it around.

The new Whittingham ? We don't play a system that suits that style of player at the moment.

As far as I'm concerned its not just who he is, its the timing that hits you between the eyes. Under Venkys we have always been behind the pack, signing players close to the deadline and introducing them to their new team-mates when a couple of games have already been played. And doing everything else last as well. Did Coyle even have a pre-season?

If true, this is revolutionary and a very good sign.

Just wait till we go with 3 at the back though!

Carey plays in Dacks position, not Whittinghams.

Asked a scottish mate about McGeouch, and TM's seeming attempt to do 3 at the back:

'McGeouch will suit that style only if the wing backs go forward, giving him a choice of wings, Dack, or strikers to aim for. BUT whichever choice he picks, they'll get the ball where they want it.

Also not afraid to roam forward (formerly played much further up the pitch) but has settled into the 'play dictator' role just ahead of the defence. Suspect it's helped with his fitness issues.'

Sounds good to me, like a poor man's Tugay! Only 25 too. Wonder if Mulgrew pulled a string or two here (if we've actually signed him)?

Nice to read another teams forum whos posters seem well informed and complimetary  about Blackburn/Mowbray/Our situation/Owners for once.

They all sound gutted to be losing him but wish him well ..must have made a great impression at Hibs.
