Crouch alone would bring our average squad height up to normal levels! ☺️

Shame his wages would be a tad too much.

WTF has happened to the emoji selection. Is it some sort of new language. Lots look like plissed cocroaches on my mobile.

Think TM is spot on there we need young hungry players that see rovers as a step up , but they also have to have the quality too and sometimes you need a player to create a buzz around the place like Dack did last summer I like  chrispricebaldspots  list , not saying crouch is the answer but a striker who gets us all "fizzing" would be nice

Posted it yesterday with link Neal..

Mellor a right back

Robertson a centre back

Both out of contract this summer.

As Mowbray has said this morning he has different lists. A free transfer list, low fee list, over a million pounds lists, etc

Mowbray and recruitment team have been busy with scouting and researching players. Its pleasing to see a manager working so hard and not relying on outside people bringing players in.

I believe we need the right signings that fit within the club and Mowbray tactics/style of play

I don't know anything about Robertson but I am worried that we're being linked with Mellor. My mate is a Plymouth fan and he was awful for them. Saw him play a couple of times in Plymouth's last League 2 playoff campaign and he looked like their weak link. Wouldn't be good enough to start ahead of Nyambe, so seems a waste of a wage when Travis, Bennett and Caddis can all play RB. Hopefully it's just gossip.

I just hope Mowbray is at his silver tongued best when he presents them lists to the Indians. Based on history alone they should opt for the freebies and loans but Mowbray simply has to do his upmost to deter them and bring in players of Championship ability otherwise we will face an uphill battle to stay in it. But they don't come cheap. Personally I don't think they will really want to push the boat out and will go the cheap route.

I sincerely hope I am wrong.

I would like to see us bring in an experienced keeper.  I'm not convinced by Raya, he's a good shot stopper but his kicking is appalling.  Against better teams we might find that if he regularly kicks it out or straight to the opposition it puts a load of unnecessary pressure on our defence.  Hope he improves but he hasn't so far.

Is this a joke? Raya must have saved us at least 15 points with saves that only top level prem keepers would make, yet cant think of any points dropped to dodgy kicks. This is why he was voted L1 Gk of the year.  If he gets much better he wont be at Rovers for long.

Would sign no to Crouch. His wages still very high.

We dont need 3 centre midfielders signings. We need 1. We got Smallwood, Travis, Evans and Bennett who can play there. I expect Bennett will play wide in some games as he will help defensively better than other.

Otzumer would be decent but will he help being back up to Dack?

Chaddy you are expecting Travis and Bennett to do some heavy lifting, right back; Centre mid, Right mid, should they bring their gloves in case they need to cover for Raya as well :p

That's my thinking also. Nothing they've said or done regarding our promotion leads me to think otherwise. We'll know better when we start signing players. If Mowbray does come back with a good wedge I don't think he'll be announcing the fact.

You got two players who can play in a number of positions which is a help to the squad..

I seen Bennett play 5 different positions this past season. Right back, right wing back, right wing, left wing and centre midfielder.

So maybe last of patronising comment like that

I would imagine TM will come back and state he has a budget that he can work with that will help him build a team for a successful season.

Mowbray has done all his research on different transfer lists/targets. So he prepare for all situations. He has gone into finer detail of players. He is top man and good manager. We are very lucky to have him in charge here. Also expecting him to have a new contract sorted aswell. I would give him a new 3 year contract

Agreed on TM contract. The only slight doubt is IF he is given a bigger transfer budget can he spend it as well as when he had less money last year - I hope so.

Nothing patronizing about it at all. If someone says we need a right back, you say Bennett can play there, another CM, Bennett can play there, right wing, Bennett can play there. What if he has to play all in the same game? :)

His adaptability is brilliant, but we need specialists in certain positions and to let Bennett focus on 1 position ideally.

A 3 year contract and a decent budget would be the best decision venkys have made since taking over the club

He is contracted for another year with a 12 month option after that. We don't need to be giving him another new deal.

Mowbray has done very well but a manager is always in danger of being  a few bad  weeks away from the sack.

I'm tired of the club forking out stupid amounts to pay people off.

I'd rather we where looking to give the like's of Dack improved contract

Well maybe it is time we did something different and weren't a club where the manager is only a few bad results away from the sack? I like how Mowbray talks, I like what he has done here so far. We should let him plan long-term. We need stability. Break the mold. The turnover of managers is absolutely ridiculous.

I agree we do need stability and I'm not saying I agree with managers getting sacked every 5 minutes but it's the way the game Is now.

I want to see how we do next season before I start advocating a new contract for Mowbray.Like I said there is no rush he has a year left and there is a year option.

I'm not saying I don't think he has done a good job he has but he did what was expected of him last season, we where promotion favourites ,had the biggest budget and he even said himself that if he didn't get us promoted he wouldn't be much of a manager.

Let's see where the club is in 12 months time before we start talking about a new contract for the manager imo

Perhaps, but if he does well this season and gets an offer, he would be free to leave. The other 12 months is an option, meaning both parties need to agree. That means he could only have 1 season left.

I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back with a longer contract and i wouldn't be against it at all

I think this is a sensible course of action. Don't want to be coming back and announcing that he has money to spend. The selling clubs would take that as a cue to drive a harder bargain. best to say we are penniless?

We dont need a right back. We have enough cover there unless Caddis move on.

Already said we need 2 new wingers and 1 new centre midfielder but I expect will play wide when playing away from home against teams like Boro, Derby, Wba, Stoke and Swansea.

Yes we do need to giving Mowbray a new deal. Keep him long term and let him build on the success he had again.

Mowbray has already he will be offering Dack a new contract

I agree 100%.

The turnover of managers is ridiculous these days but thats modern football.

Managers are different to players when it comes to contracts. You don't need to dish out 3,4,5 year deals to keep hold of decent managers and any compensation received for a departing manager is much less than transfer fees demanded for players under contract.

Lots of managers in the Championship only operate on 12-24 month deals or rolling contracts. Mowbray has until at least this time next year, no rush to change that as yet. Lets see how things go and then re-assess the situation at Christmas.

I'm not sure Caddis really comes into the equation unless he goes on some incredibly intensive pre season training. He looks badly out of condition. Putting that to the side, Mowbray didn't actually play him until promotion was secured this season, I can't see him being Mowbrays preferred back up to Nyambe next season.

Travis and Bennett can play there, but I dont think we will get away with moving players into different positions on a week by week basis next season. Maybe Mowbrays sees Traviss future as specialising there or Bennett going forward. I would prefer the same situation as we have for left back though, two specialists in completion for the position.

Edit* just checked there. Caddis is only 30 according to wiki,is that right?? I thought he was around 36
