Like him but he still needs to learn to lift his head when he is running. He gets the ball and it’s head down looking to get into a space where he can shoot when it’s not always the best option. Having said that I believe he is the best finisher we have, even above Graham who wouldn’t score the goals from outside the box that Armstrong can

I agree he is the best finisher and I would play up front where he will score goals and can use his pace and movement to most effect

Not like the LT to promote interest in the sale of a Rovers player.

The Article says PL clubs were interested in him in the January

Would say Dack is the best finisher then possibly Graham, although Armstrong is better from distance as we have seen.

Theres plenty of promise with Armstrong as a striker but of course there are elements to his game that he needs to improve. He needs to anticipate chances to get more scruffy goals to get his numbers up, he needs to work on the timing of his runs and he needs to be able to hold onto the ball at times. That being said, hes still young and is still a big threat and a very important player going forward.

In the Newcastle local rag now... and what a surprise they mention who his agent is.

Agency planted story yet again.

Think that is where it was first as the LT story links to it.

That's where the LT gets the story. Armstrong is having a good season. He's only 23 years old. Rovers need to offer him new 5 years contract.

Different strikers score different types of goalss. Less offsides than Grabban and Watkins this season. His game is about pace and movement. We are moving away from being more direct style like with Graham/Dack partnership. Playing a more short passing, movement, quicker game style

This is how transfer rumours start. Telegraph doing us no favours once again regurgitating 'news' from other outlets and passing it off as 'interest' in one of our players.

Before long it will be a fact that Armstrong bids are coming and it will snowball from there.

Of course PL clubs will have had a look. He's young, English and not only in good form but scoring quality goals. Can say the same for half the Championship players who have played well this season.

Some things never change and before long it will be fact that he's going to be sold and we are going to struggle to hold on.

With Dack out and other business not great Armstrong might be Mowbray's saviour when it comes to his India trip.

If its on other sites, I don't think it being in the LT is going to alert any buyers who wouldn't have been interested anyway.

Newspapers can't be blamed for reporting the facts - it's the primary purpose of their existence.

What facts have the Telegraph reported? Relaying a rumour from another paper isnt the purpose of their existence.

The article makes it clear that there have been reports in the North East of interest in the player. You can't seriously be suggesting that in today's marketplace where local newspapers are struggling for their very existence that the LET should engage in a cover up of a story being reported elsewhere.

Who says that's a fact? It's a rumour. It might be true, it might not. There's no way the Telegraph know. So they are piggy backing on a rumour from elsewhere.

Saying he is being watched by others is fairly obvious and could apply to most players in the Championship. Premier League clubs spend fortunes scouting players all over the place. The vast majority don't get bids and don't move.

Telegraph are mischief makers who are always quite quick to jump upon distant rumours of interest in one of our star players but never actually come up with anything positive about the club e.g. new signings or spending.

I'm suggesting that they dont pass off gossip from miles away as real interest in one of our better players.

Not really asking for a 'cover up', just report on facts preferably unearthed at Rovers end rather than fanning the flames of what might be a Nixon style column filler and nothing more.

These sort of things spread like wildfire and within weeks will be going round as clubs preparing bids. That can't do us or the player any good at this stage.

They didn't create the story - it was already out there.
