Even so. It's well known in the physio world that injuries to one part of the body can increase potential risks to other parts of the body also. The human body naturally compensates. Sadly, a lot of injury ridden athletes begin by picking up recurring injuries in similar locations (ie: right leg, ankle through to hip) and eventually due to the natural compensation begin to pick up injuries elsewhere too.

I am in no way saying his shoulder injury is linked to that btw. Could just be a weird push or pull he's made.Just saying from a physio view Harry Chapman is an incredibly big risk. For such a young lad to have such a long list of injuries is worrying.

We are not yet at the days of sports science where we can predict where the next injury is coming from. We aren't far off but by no means developed enough to be taking risks on such players.

Finally, though, the human body does have the ability to surprise. Chapman could go the rest of his career without an injury and we may rue a missed opportunity (if we don't take the punt anyway). I wouldn't bet on that outcome though.

I think that is what Chapman is - a punt. We know the lad can play.  We know he can be a game changer.  We know he fits in with the 'good set of lads ethos'  We know he could break down for 6 months.  We know that a good season would increase his value no end.  We know he could be forced from the game due to injury.  At the moment, given his contract length remaining, he is likely to be the cheapest he will potentially be.  I think back to all Josh King's injury problems, yet on his day, unplayable and worth a few quid.   Worth a punt I would say.

Once again, couldn't agree more. Taking advantage of a cheap punt due to his injury record on a player with his exceptional talent seems an absolute no brainer to me.

Just don't think he is a TM type of player or that he particularly rates him.

When discussing Armstrong and Chapman I'm sure he said they were "in the mix"... Which would imply he has interest in him, unless some can correct me otherwise.

Yeah that’s correct. He said they are like b and c list if I can remember correctly.

Also Tony said a few days later that the fee for Armstrong was too good to miss. Being a bargain his exact words were.

He did say that yes.TM must rate some of his qualities  otherwise why did he bring him here in the first place.

He has his injury issues and wouldn't be a starter initially but Chapman would be great to have on the bench, his attributes can completely change a game. Seemed a popular lad amongst the other players too.

Fuck sake. Him on end looks like lenihan

Really looks like Lenihan. If another team had posted that you'd think he was off!

Anichebe might as well bring his boots. Samuel's injury looked bad, so that's him out for a long spell. Armstrong looked more like sprained ankle, but at this rate we need two strikers.

Still need a central midfielder, a centre back, striker and a winger.

Tonight shows that we are pretty stuffed with 4 out; Dack, KP, Armstrong and Samuel - however I can’t believe how many chances we created without the two who didn’t start, and then with Nuttall and Conway. Against (whilst no way a top 6 team) not a bad side...

Anichebe might be a good shout to add to Graham, Nuttall and Armstrong. However, we saw how strong the team spirit was tonight. Can’t help but think an ex prem free transfer on big wages could disrupt that potentially.

Linked with Harrison Reed, definite improvement on Smallwood be happy if we signed him. Anichebe on the other hand? I'll pass on that one

Anichebe...a 30 year old striker with a career goal return of less than one every six games (about one in seven in league games). His best ever goal return in a season was 8, 6 of them in the league.

Maybe on pay as you play, to let Nuttall go on loan, but hopefully as an extra rather than main striker buy.
