With this plus Caddis and the unfortunate Samuel it’s hard to see a weak link in the side right now. Which in itself is a great sign of intent and looks like some real planning for the future is going on!

The knives will be out for Joe Nuttall though. Unless that’s why we bought Rodwell...

It seems the info been given out is very sensitive and with Caddis and Whittinngham being released, it would make no sense that Gladwin hasn't. Unless there is something pretty serious going on with him. Just speculation of course

Strange paying off Whittingham.  Why now?  Surely can't be much difference between paying him off now or letting his contract run down.  It's not like it's freeing up an extra loan place or anything.

Whatever the difference is, its still a saving if you have no plans to play him

We need to be.

Whitts wasn't contributing to the team and has many players infront of him in the queue for a starting place.

When we signed him, i thought he would be a good player for us, shame it didn't work out.

A big difference. Doing it now, means we probably paid at most 50% of next years contract. It means he can go and find a club where he may get a few more years. It's win/win at this point

Don’t see why he wouldn’t get some minutes if he was fit, big lad to throw up for corners if we are chasing a goal. One of mowbrays failings is not going gung ho enough when we need a last min goal

We took Gladwin from QPR who've been paying daft wages so it might cost too much to bin him off he seems the type to sit on a contract.

TM's a bit fortunate here being able to correct his mistakes but that's a fair reward for sealing promotion.
