AAK Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 2 weeks ago we are after QPR's star midfielder, fast forward 2 weeks we are now after QPR's 5th choice striker = Transfer window Venkys style 3 Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 I really despise Nixon, he's an absolute oxygen thief whose levels of self-importance know no bounds. Like the pied piper trotting out nonsense to the masses who lap it up 1 Quote
JacknOry Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 I put it before - but this does not look good. Quote
Fraserkirky Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Much rather Lucas Joao if we are targeting lanky centre forwards 1 Quote

tomphil Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 We seem terrified of signing a player or two who can go straight in the team, who is as good as or better than ones we have despite allegedly being able to afford it. Let's take a 5th choice from QPR so he can be 5th or 4th choice here etc Bonkers. I understand not upsetting the applecart and giving others a chance but there are a few positions in the team that could do with an upgrade and it needn't cost millions or tens of thousands per week. Sliding one upgrade in per window, that's how you build a good side along with all the rest of it. Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Hey, QPR paid 2.5 million for him so that must mean he's twice as good as Adam Armstrong, right? That's how transfer valuations work isn't it? 2 Quote

Don’t get your knickers in a twist. So we are potentially signing a qpr reserve suggests you think it holds weight. This David McIntyre chap is a freelance, just reading his twitter feed, he has also said don’t hold your breath on this one, suggesting it ain’t happening. Everyman and his dog knows we are after forwards. God knows who else we will be linked with in the next 7 days. Did someone post they wonder what Chris Brown is up to these days? Quote
imy9 Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Sylla has scored 10 in 32 in the championship in his first season. 4 in 20 last season. Depends on the deal, but he certainly isn't the total car crash some are saying on here. Quote

I don't think anyone can be blamed for being on edge at this late stage of the window. If you have read my posts throughout this window iv been quite optimistic we would be bringing in some quality. But we don't seem any closer to bringing in signings of quality. At the end of the day at the beginning of the summer I thought we would have a modest budget and would be shopping for bargains. It was only when Waggot and Mowbray both spoke of making exciting signings that I started to believe we had a decent budget and we would bring in a couple of quality players that would go into our first 11. Quite a few players have moved to clubs with small budgets for reasonable fees that would have improved us yet we seem to have spent the summer chasing players we had no chance of bringing in.Now we are being linked with a qpr reserve a team who's start has put them amongst the relegation candidates. I will wait till next Friday to give my final judgement but even the most positive of fans must be getting a bit concerned now. 1 Quote

We must be some way past the Z list by now and back on AAand BB etc. After the generally positive reaction to the signing of RodwellI I think if we were linked with Bradley Orr and Leon Best someone would come on here trying to defend it and saying "Trust Tony" and if it was good enough for him it's good enough for them. 3 Quote
