South American football fans are fervent and ruthless. If a bit of booing from a couple of Rovers fans managed to upset him then he’s in for a world of pain if he doesn’t perform. 4 Quote
J*B Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Congrats to Breo - now an international player, set to start vs. Argentina. Quote

simongarnerisgod Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 would`nt it be ironic if the chilean manager puts him up front, he starts banging goals in,becomes a cult hero in chile and gets the attention of the big european clubs🙂 5 Quote

AllRoverAsia Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 (edited) Chile have 6 games in June. A couple could be Messi v Messy. For the record I do wish BB all the best with his international career. Edited May 22, 2021 by AllRoverAsia Quote
CheshireRover Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Poor Lionel. His contract is up at Barca and now he’s going to be shown up by Ben, and replaced by him after a £75m transfer… 3 Quote
JacknOry Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Now I know how Irish fans feel, those pesky Chileans have just stolen a player nailed on to start for England one day... 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Tickled me that the LT were framing the story around ‘pledging his allegiance’ and the ‘decision he has to make’, like Southgate could miss the chance for a call up and for BB to take on Foden, Sancho et al for that wide role. 😁 4 Quote

Chris Sutton was taken the piss out of when it came to England, and was only given one appearance, and Ben isn’t fit to wrap gorilla tape around the aging aglets of Chris Sutton’s shoelaces. 1 Quote

47er Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 They must be hard up is all I can say. Still, if it increases his transfer value its a good thing for us. 2 Quote

TruRover Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Can’t help but be buzzing about this. Hopefully they can qualify for the World Cup with Big Ben as their main man! Quote
rovers11 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 This has to be one of the most bizarre call ups ever. Great for him though. You can't help but feel he's one of the most overrated young players. First he gets sold for £7m and now he gets called up by Chile! 2 Quote
booth Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 Hopefully it means we’re in with a better chance of eventually offloading him and recouping some costs now. 1 Quote

I am hoping that he actually turns into a reasonable player for the Rovers. I am not in the slightest bothered about recouping costs. 4 Quote

Chile must have seriously regressed from the team I've seen in years gone by (I see Sanchez and Vidal are still knocking about...just). But good luck to the lad. Quote
Dreams of 1995 Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 There is a huge commercial opportunity here. South American fans are fanatical and would definitely purchase a Brereton Rovers shirt if given the chance. Merchandise geared towards that should be sold to Chileans or at least marketed there. I highly doubt it though. Well go after the totally wikeds of this world still. 2 Quote
