Agree that Bell seems to be slowing down the game when the ball gets to him. Needs a bit of urgency, doesn’t half seem to break into a sprint

Best bit was the QPR players reacting to our time wasting for the last 5 minutes after they had pretty much tried to do that the whole game. Have to admit it was funny when BB pretended to think it was a corner and not a throw in (got booked for it though).

yeah we have stolen the game, needed a penalty to do it, we have looked extremley poor all game until rothwell palmer and brereton have been on the same pitch, dack not been at the races but has the goal for us, reed wasted out wide looks for better in the middle,  i dont like us going to defensive at home with both smallwood and evans, have one with reed in the middle and the front 3 can interchange with armstrong, brereton, dack, graham, palmer and rothwell and bennett

Take a step back man, enjoy the result. 5 points off top spot.

The reason dack didn't have a good game is because he has zero support from the centre midfield!! Dack is not to blame - I personally think these dull performances are down to the quality in the centre.

A dire game for the most part, mainly because of QPR’s spoiling tactics and several of our players being below par. For all the teeth gnashing though, if Graham has brought his shooting boots we’d have won at a canter.

No doubt the decisive sub was young Ben, he made the penalty and him and Dack in the bottom corner the last few minutes was priceless.

QPR didn’t have one serious effort on goal so I can’t see that we “stole the game”.

Stick to Fifa. If you expect every game to be 100% quality attacking and running a game, you’re a moron. We defended excellently today, Williams was particularly good. Armstrong, Reed, Evans, Smallwood et al all worked really hard if lacking a bit of final product.

We never looked like losing to one of the form teams. We lacked quality, that’s a given but to come with some ridiculous comments sums up what kind of self entitled fan you are. Grow up

Reed, Rodwell and Davenport waiting in the wings! Actually in Reeds case, on the wing!

It's QPR's first defeat in 5 games. Add to that, the first goal scored against them in three games - even Derby, an "positive" team, couldn't beat them. It was an awful match, but we can thank McClaren for that - someone who's doing a "stop the rot" job and doing a pretty good job at that.

Super to win against a stubborn team like that - just when I thought we were getting a point or none.

Is it also true that WE received a yellow card for time-wasting over the course of 4 minutes, when they received none over the course of 90?

We can be flattered one of the form teams came and stopped playing Football. ??

disgraceful time wasting starting from the first half. Ah, sweet justice ?

QPR remarkably disappointing- thankfully.

Rovers did the job in the end but the strength in depth means that below energy performers should expect a spot of bench warming.

Danny Graham had a stinker- the game would have been transformed had he taken the first half chances.

Says a lot that we played at half pace against the form team of the division and could still win.

And Brereton is showing decisively when he comes on- a lovely cameo at the Hawthorns last week and an as professional drawing of the penalty foul as you could ever see today.

A question to everyone, do you think this squad is as good or better than the one bowyer created with Cairney, Marshal, King and the rest. I think it's not miles away.

I also feel that this year is the chance to get to the play offs as I think the likes of Dack will be gone in the summer and getting the likes of reed and Palmer to name a few back will be far less likely next year.

I personally feel this league is there for anyone's taking and that there isn't a standout team and a few results can change the ambition of any teams season.

Do people feel that Mowbray may possibly be another nearly man like bowyer where he creates a talented team but doesn't get the best from it?

The Bowyer squad was significantly better than this one but Mowbray is a proper football manager.

Yes play-off slots are there for the taking and automatic promotion is if we have an exceptional January window through concertinaing the three window strategy into one.

No reason to assume we would not pick up PL loanee gems again next season; getting Reed signed is going to be a high priority Sparky please.

No there is no reason to assume Mowbray would be a nearly man

Poor, poor game with no standout performers outside of the defence.

0-0 would have suited that game to a tee but it's a massive 3 points. Looking at this game and the Bolton game, we are beginning to win ugly - and that cant be a bad thing!

Agree that Bowyer had the better squad but TM is a better manager.

This squad has a better togetherness though and a never say die attitude. You can see it when a 5 ft AA is squaring up to and pushing a 6.5 ft centre half. Reed pumping his fist at the end when he blocked possibly their last counter attack. You could tell the boys really enjoyed this win due to the spoiling tactics of QPR.

Played better second half but the ref was a problem even though he gave us a penalty. We held a good shape throughout , Graham should have bagged two but both him and Dack had to come deep into midfield because they weren't getting the ball upfront. In the end a good 3 points.

Yawnsville.

Standouts? Hmm. Their defender kicking the ball over the stand. Dack prone on the floor with his hands out appealing for a foul when he had thrown himself over. Graham looking at a defender as he backs in, making a pathetic jump and then falling over expecting a foul. The crowd getting all agitated with the ref who was so biased that he, er, gave us a questionable penalty at the end. Their goalie rushing off his line near the end of the game to remonstrate with the ref, complaining that we were time wasting. 2 teams doing their level best to create a 0-0. Countless times we were in comfortable possession but just did not have the nous/creativity/pace to open up a side who were content to sit in their shape.

Otherwise? Well, we won although really did think they were going to sneak a 1-0. Lenihan was commanding at times and Williams too (his weaknesses are less obvious at centre back). And er, that’s it I think. ?
