Very sorry to read about the passing of David Helliwell.

Always thought that he had so much potential but playing at the time he did was probably too small to make an impact.

I remember seeing him make his debut for Rovers and he really looked the part. A very skilful, clever player who was Bryan Douglas's understudy that day. He was about 5 ft 7 ins tall but about 9 stone wet through and he never really developed physically. Such a shame because he had plenty of ability.

That's exactly as I remember him. Wasn't he nicknamed "Spider" given his physical characteristics?

Weird..According to the LT..he died in 2003, aged 54. It even records a tribute from Ronnie Clayton...
