Cherry Blue Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Stanley, Woking or Burnley at home would add a bite to the third round but got a feeling it will be Pompey away. Quote
Husky Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) Exciting times. The balls are out. Edited December 3, 2018 by Husky Quote
Stuart Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 That’s a dreadful draw. But at the same time it’ll be a great occasion. Quote
superniko Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 I quite like that draw. Premiership team, should sell fairly well and a great stadium for a booze up (centrally located) 1 Quote
blueboy3333 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) Do the rules still apply on the away side getting a % of the total tickets? Is it 15%? Edited December 3, 2018 by blueboy3333 Quote
Garage Flower Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Boring draw we’ve played them recently and probably won’t go through. Quote
Bbrovers2288 Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Too many toon fans as friends for that to be a good draw for me Quote

Might be pushing it to beat them 3x on the trot but if we can beat them twice on the trot with Coyle in charge who knows? Hope TM treats it as seriously as a League game. 1 Quote
Mattyblue Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) 15% of the ground, so 8,000. Doubt we’d even need a quarter of that! We’ll get 45% of the gate receipts though, Waggott will be hoping their fans don’t arrange a boycott! Edited December 3, 2018 by Mattyblue Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Great draw - nothing to lose so go up there and in the words of G. Bowyer, ‘give it a right good go’ Play 4 up front. Then put Brereton on at left back for the last 10 minutes. 1 Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Give it a good go this time. Win, lose or draw lets see how far we can go. A tough draw but we've won there before a few times. Quote
Vinjay Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) If you're playing Newcastle in a cup competition it's not usually much to worry about ?. If you insist on attending every game it's not the worst place to visit is it? It's the most recent away game (the 1-0 win 2 years ago) I attended actually. Kinda laughed at the Boring Name FC v Barnsley draw. Battle of the marketing goldmine names. Edited December 5, 2024 by Vinjay Quote
Ossydave Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Happy with that, great day out and definitely winnable too, can't believe people are saying it's a bad draw! Quote
old darwen blue Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 We will beat them pretty sure we’ve a good record up there. Hope for a good supporter turnout as well. Quote
Claytons Left Boot Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 (edited) Will probably suffer a narrow defeat but it is also a game that is winnable. Edited December 3, 2018 by Claytons Left Boot Word missing Quote
tomphil Posted December 3, 2018 Posted December 3, 2018 Interesting draw we've an ok record up there, should take a few this time depending on price/tv hopefully we play without fear. Would think the suits at Ewood will be hoping for a draw so they can charge top whack in a replay, get tv coverage, fleece the Geordies, open all the ground then sit back and moan when it's nowhere near full ! Yeah a replay would be great. I expect it to be full of Sunderland fans who'll be there to boo Rodwell ! Quote
