CP Company Lad Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Met him in Preston a few times. Really nice bloke. 62 eh ? Wow. Quote
blueboy3333 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 A hot-steppin' wing wizard. He died aged 38 the week before we won the Prem title. Tragic. 3 Quote
CP Company Lad Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Preston Grasshoppers. Met him there. Nice bloke. Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Noel.... 'he is the King of Ewood park'! Taken far too young. 1 Quote
Colt Seavers Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 I remember him destroying England full back Viv Anderson during the big midweek evening cup game against the great Forest team back in the late 70s (?) Anderson resorted to stamping on him as I recall. He couldn't handle Noel at all. I seem to remember a testimonial for him circa 1990 against Kendall's Man City team. A genius on his day and a grafter too. 2 Quote
CP Company Lad Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Players like him why I like Rovers. As a kid. Quote
Sparks Rover Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 My memory of Noel was a 25yd cracker in 3rd round fa cup v Chelsea.... 2 Quote

arbitro Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 I remember his debut at Burnley in a pre season Lancashire Cup match and we couldn't believe he was only 21 primary because of his receding hairline. He represented one of our best ever signings in my opinion. 4 Quote
Doaksie Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 I changed my avatar a few weeks back in homage to a fellow country-man who lit up Ewood Park. It's great to read the tales of how somebody from my little country is so fondly revered at the club I love. 6 Quote
DraytonRover Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Always struggled in the mud of autumn but became unplayable on the frosty pitches in winter! One of my first heroes at Ewood - might have been partly because he was bald like my dad!! Quote

Fantastic little player, loved watching the king if Ewood, loved when we belted out the song too. I was here when he passed, what was the reason for his early demise. Di nit know he was less than a year older than me. RIP Noel and thanks for the happy times. Quote

In the white hot intensity of that night both were immaculately observed by all. Did we not lose Micky Heaton around the same time Jim? Quote

My brother was first on the scene and tended to Mick. I couldn’t remember exactly when it was but knew it was somewhere round about the same time as Noel. Quote
