G Somerset Rover Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 (edited) Another 4 changes tonight but it’s the front 5 many expected. Warranted and required to an extent for tonight’s match after Saturday but we really need some consistency with the selection soon - too many changes week in week out. BankEnd Rover Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 (edited) Zzzzzz on the line up. No surprise really. Very frustrating! Not going to say what I'm thinking now until after the game. We will see if my thoughts change! Edited November 28, 2018 by BankEnd Rover Quote
Ewood Ace Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 I've nothing against Smallwood (he's been a solid player for us) but I'd love to know what Mowbray thinks he brings to the midfield that Reed doesn't as for me Reed does everything Smallwood does and more and it would also allows us to play one of Palmer, Brereton or Rothwell wide. I know Williams was bad on Saturday but Bell has been awful all season. It looks like a team set up not to lose rather than a team sent to go out there and take the initiative. 2 Quote
AdamRochina Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Don't like reed out wide as I feel he's wasted but I can see why he's there with Bennett out .. hope for a great performance tonight come on rovers !! Quote
OldEwoodBlue Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Line up typically not brave enough. At least that Donkey Palmer has been dropped ! 1 Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted November 28, 2018 Moderation Lead Posted November 28, 2018 I really wish we’d be more aggressive and less conservative. Reed is a DM and he’s playing RW and we’ve got attacking players on the bench ?. 3 Quote

Oldgregg86 Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Not really a surprising line up but not one that will take the game to Wigan either. With wigan keeping 21 clean sheets in 30 home games I think we can hope for a 1-0 and pray to God they don't get an early goal In mowbray we trust? Quote
Backroom Tom Posted November 28, 2018 Backroom Posted November 28, 2018 Still sticking to us getting a 2-1 win, the likely subs of Rothwell, Palmer and Brereton have quality from the bench Quote
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Anyone able to sign in to ifollow? It just doesn’t want to know. I’m in danger of having a pleasant evening in otherwise. Quote

Bigdoggsteel Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 I'm not surprised Lenihan is out. He hasn't impressed me this season on a consistent basis. Needs a kick up the back side in the form of genuine competition. I just wonder, is he injured? Quote

We don't have the width to hurt teams, the pace to counter or the height for direct play. We are still very much lacking an identity or style despite TM having more than 18 months to develop one. Feel we will get done by Wigan's more direct approach. Hopefully, there is a reaction to PNE though and that is enough to get us the points. 1 Quote
blueboy3333 Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 I'm looking for an 8/10 performance tonight from AA. Quote

Returning from fishing and back to football related talk- Nyambe needs a better display tonight too. I rate him and Darragh highly, both potential premier league players but we could score 2 or 3, and still drop points if we aren’t at it from the first minute + we make similar basic defensive errors to Saturday. (And Ipswich away, Reading at home, Bristol away, villa at home, last ten minutes of stoke away, Forest and Sheff united at home, Swansea away, Etc etc) I’ve never been concerned about the goals under Mowbray, it’s the organisation and consistent defending. He is a damn sight better at it than Mercer’s best mate Clownpants, but he’s no Big Sam or Hughes eye for detail on defending. Obviously we have lesser players, but Bolton away/Brentford at home/Hull away are our only (what I’d personally describe as) properly solid displays. Quote

Husky Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Going off Saturday I'd say at least 3-1 Wigan. Dodgy formation again? . . ..Hmmm. Normally I'd be semi confident of a 2-1 away win. Quote
SoldierMo Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 How the hell aint that a red what a joke Quote
Backroom Tom Posted November 28, 2018 Backroom Posted November 28, 2018 Awful challenge and the ref wasn’t even going to book him until it became obvious it was an injury Quote
