Alan75 Posted February 27, 2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Media articles during the last couple of days report that Henning Berg is retiring to his native Norway once his contract runs out in the summer and that after two spells at Ewood Park he believes the future is bright for Rovers. In an interview reported by the press Berg has allegedly stated he believes the future is bright for Rovers. Stating that Rovers have some very good players, including young ones coming through from the Academy. Berg signed for Rovers from Lillestrom in 1993 and was an integral part of Dalglishs Championship winning team in 1994-95, making 40 league appearances that season. After leaving Rovers in 1997 for Manchester United he returned to Ewood Park in September 2000 to make 42 league appearances in the promotion season, as the defensive rock that lead the Rovers back to the Premiership. I believe I can say that the unassuming Norwegian defender will go down in Rovers history as one of the greats to have worn the blue and white.
