CrouchingNunhiddenCucumber Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 For play to Mowbray for changing it up, sounds like it's working fairly well so far. Would still be surprised if we got anything from this but a welcome improvement from the last few outings. Quote
perthblue02 Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Anybody watching on ifollow, what the hell is that bloody thing behind the corner flag they keep focusing on? Quote

Took some notes. - Would love a Jack O’Conell in a Rovers shirt - Travis brining mobility and energy to midfield - I am fine with either Smallwood or Evans, never both. - Palmer doing really well, big sting and skillful. Tracking back really well too. Impressed. - Much better Fromm lenihan. - if we calm splash 7m on Brereton, I would pay the same for Reed. What a player. - the left back Stevens for them is a nightmare. - Reed is unbelievable, don’t remember a better all round midfielder in a rovers shirt. - Brereton should have scored but has done well up front. Learned a few arse tricks from Graham by the looks of things. - Bennett scares the shit out of me. A goal is coming from that side. - really close a few times on the break, ball just getting nicked at the last minute. It's good that you and @philipl are seeing the same game as me. Doing well, so far. Quote
Blueandwhitemike Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Better mobility and passing today, still could go either way but Travis Palmer doing well, good and bad from Rothwell and Brereton. 1 Quote

Norbert Rassragr Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 How's Benny B playing at today? I assume he is playing as a full striker, not an 'inside forward' or whatever. Quote

Rothwell and Palmer showing why they are peripheral to the team; Rothwell does too much and gives the ball away in bad positions, Palmer offering zero support for Bennett, which Travis keeps covering for. Ben started slowly, much like his sub appearances, but last 20 mins has looked really good when coming short for the ball, which gives us a very different approach play. Agree on Palmer and Rothwell. They are both really skillful players, but they have some glaring weaknesses playing on the flanks. Rothwell does pretty well tracking back, but takes too many risks that don't come off. Palmer on the hand takes slightly less risks, but doesn't track back as well. The issue is they are best suited to playing in the number 10 position where they can take more risks and not have to perform their defensive duties as much, but obviously TM is not playing them in that position, as that's Dack's spot. If TM does insist on playing them on the flanks then they will have to make a lot of improvement to be more reliable. Of the 2, I have more faith that Rothwell will get there in the end. Quote
Husky Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) Shocking ref again. This isn't Old Trafford. Edited December 29, 2018 by Husky Quote
Fraserkirky Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) Really, everytime Rothwell cuts inside he looks dangerous. thats a red card Edited December 29, 2018 by Fraserkirky Quote

Husky Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 (edited) Lol. Well, the right result in the end. But an utterly shambolic way of achieving it. Sheff Utd down to ten. Edited December 29, 2018 by Husky 1 Quote

perthblue02 Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Hopefully wear them down for another 5-10 minutes then unleash Graham and Dack 1 Quote
