ChrisPriceBaldSpot Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Well done again boys. 2019 starting in the right fashion. Perfect game plan. Subdue them, wear them down and then release Arma. Travis I fooking love you. Big Joe you might well save us a few quid in the transfer market, scrappy goal but at least he was in there for it. Lenihan and Rodwell looked in complete control at the back. Over the moon with this result. Safe journey home to all you that have made the trip, hope there's no bother getting out of the ground. Said I would have 3 beers for every goal we won by tonight. Best get to the fridge. Tony Mowbray's Blue and White Army!!!!!!! 6 Quote
neophox Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Nuttall is there to score goals, and he does. Travis man of the match, what an engine...not one game...all games he's played so far. Why has he been left out? Strange.... 1 Quote

Lenihan strong at the back. Nuttall “scored” and put it about. Great finish by Armstrong. Three away points. 1 Quote
neophox Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Millwall had four wins on the row but Rovers showed carachter in a scrppy game...think mindset was all over next games against Newcastle... 1 Quote
Bbrovers2288 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 We played awful, defended well for a change though. Armstrong changed it, Travis has to be a starter in the middle, I hope to never see Smallwood in there again . mowbray needs to be braver and stamp some sort of plan down, in every game iv seen of us this tear which is a good 16 or so, iv thought we looked poor. Results don’t cover up poor performances for long and another losing run is around the corner unless we improve. Hapoy tonight though so will take the robbery of the 3 points 1 Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 12, 2019 Moderation Lead Posted January 12, 2019 I was as confused as anyone by that lineup, I’ll be honest. But, it’s a cracking win, so who cares? Let’s enjoy it and celebrate with booze or whatever your alternative is if you don’t drink.... Have a good one ladies and gents. If you’re out in Whalley, we’ll have a drink together.... 1 Quote

Followed closely by: can he step up again? Dack holds us back when we play so defensively, yes. He's too slow to play the counter attack football that formation / team selection favours. Armstrong is also a far, far better player centrally. Another one that is wasted out wide. He should be our impact sub from here on out. Quote
philipl Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Wonderful 3 points. Excellently worked two goals, particularly Armstrong's which took some scoring from where he received it but his composure was excellent. Fantastic 5 minutes. Millwall are not a good side- thankfully- we would have got smacked today if they were half decent. Happy Happy! Quote

blueboy3333 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 LT: A late bang in the face for David Raya who is led off the pitch holding his eye stemming the flow of blood. It must be bad if his eye has come out. Hope it's not the same injury as before. Quote
Husky Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Just wondering. Is that the first time Mowbray's late subs have actually made us better? Quote
Bigdoggsteel Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 A lot on twitter giving Lenihan man of the match. Good to see, particularly with Mulgrew out. How did Rodwell do? Great win Quote

RevidgeBlue Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Without wishing him any serious harm best thing about tonight apart from the result was the injury to Evans. Something not too serious that keeps him out for a month or so and Travis at the Club until after the transfer window would be just the ticket. Kudos to TM he's just been interviewed and admitted it was a terrible game of football. 1 Quote

TheWeasel Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Travis is an absolute baller, the composure he has for his experience is unreal. Key for both goals as well, what an exciting player. Nuttall grafted big time, and I thought he dealt with the stick from the crowd well you can tell he’s got bags of confidence. Rodwell and Lenihan superb as well. Rubbish game, great result. 8 Quote

Smug. Especially after that game. The reality is that was a relief grabbing three points after playing some dire football for 99% of that game. That finishes 0-0 and suddenly taking off Dack doesn’t look so great. As it is, you have to question if Armstrong has been used to his (and the team’s) best because of the need to accommodate Dack. Palmer scoring on his Bristol debut too adds to that debate. It’s well done to Mowbray today but let’s not pretend that it’s time to start scoring points. 2 Quote

It was his quickness of thought that started an attack instead of a foot on the ball and letting them get back. No place for Smallwood on this side. No way can Travis be dropped or loaned out now. 4 Quote
rovers11 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Excellent win, shocking game. I’ll take that though as it’s all about the points. Rodwell, Lenihan, and Travis were outstanding. Armstrong changed the game when he came on. Amari Bell needs to be replaced very soon, he’s an absolutely abysmal player, Quote
CP Company Lad Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Always on the cards that. Said it at half time. Nice to see those clowns with their tails btw their legs. Good peformance on the road by Rovers. Not sure why so many of you have a downer on the manager. Proven at this level and a double over Burnley next season. 5 Quote

When they start awarding points for style and ifs/maybes, your points might be valid. 1 Quote
briansol Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Travis proving to be our best midfielder. Had a hand in both goals with his forward play. Seems to found the right balance in not overcommiting tackles as well. Also thought Nuttall had a decent game. Great work rate and won quite a few challenges against some very big centre halfs. Not everything came off, put got in the right position to grab a scrappy goal. Has a knack for scrappy goals. Will be hard to judge whether to send him on loan now. Brave call of subbing Dack, but Armstrong really paid off and credit to Mowbray for going for the win when it was written 0-0 all over it. 7 Quote
