yellowsubmarine Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 What a half from us. Really enjoyed it. Fluid movement and passing. Full of energy from Bennett, Travis, Armstrong, Reed. Even Bell looked much better today. Will love us to get a 3rd goal to kill Hull's confidence alittle. But im not complaining, Hull's the form team at the moment. 3 Quote

davulsukur Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Unexpected but very welcome. Let's hope we don't just sit back and try and protect the lead. Quote

Exiled in Toronto Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Best half of football under Mowbray that. Completely stopping them playing out from the back, we must’ve won the ball off them in their half ten times. Evans man of the half for me. 4 Quote
Stuart Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Good half and pretty comfortable 45 minutes. But... it’s a symptom of Mowbray’s lack of focus on the defensive side of the game that at 2-0 up we still can’t feel confident of seeing out a win without getting at least one more. The first 15 minutes of the second half are massive. Then the next 15. Then the last 15. 2 Quote
Backroom Tom Posted January 26, 2019 Backroom Posted January 26, 2019 Brilliant that Evans looking up for it from the off, Bennett everywhere and Arma doing what we know he can. Really pleased to see Rodwell get a goal as well 1 Quote

Hull are looking again like that awful team we played in our second game, I doubt that will last into the second half though so, without wanting to be greedy, I've also been hoping we snag a third. Which we nearly did a couple of times. I started thinking in the Ipswich game that we were finally starting to show shoots of the more passing-based game Mowbray has talked about. I chalked it off to it being against an easy team, so we would look better at all that anyway, but that perhaps TM chose that game to experiment with it. Today though it's looking more like it's intentional. We'll see how we carry on. Quote

blueboy3333 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 As others have said that's the best 1st half performance under Mogga. Evans and Travis have been superb in the middle and completely stopped Hull playing. Bennett has been equally good at full back. Hard to single anyone put for criticism. Dack perhaps as he's still not quite at his brilliant best. If Hull get one early 2nd half I'll be worried. They can't be as bad as that again. An early goal for us will kill it. COYB Quote
Fraserkirky Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 That’s the best 45 mins of Rovers under Tony. Absolute class Get Rodwell contract extension signed at HT please. 2 Quote
JacknOry Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Come on boys - give us something to aim for this season. So far an excellent display. Quote
Exiled in Toronto Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) Interesting that Lenihan hasn’t aimlessly booted it forward but been playing it into Evans and Travis. Plus what a move for the first goal: 3 passes takes it from Raya’s hands into the back of their net Edited January 26, 2019 by Exiled in Toronto Quote

Husky Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 We need the 3rd. That was almost it... Still squeaky bum time. Quote
Gone to seed Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 BBC crediting us for excellent pressing, and crowding Hull out of the game. Can we keep up the pressure / pace? Quote

jim mk2 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 In other matches... Benitez getting his wish and Newcastle going out of cup. Burnley won't be going to Wembley. PNE winning at Stoke in Championship Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 26, 2019 Moderation Lead Posted January 26, 2019 Corry Evans has been quality today. The much maligned Bennett, bar a few ropey cross field passes has been quality as well. Imagine how good Danny Graham would be if he wasn’t past it! 3 Quote
