Popular Post joey_big_nose Posted January 26, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) To put it bluntly we look good enough to go up. If you step back it really is the introduction of Travis and Rodwell that have changed everything. The spine of the team (Rodwell-Lenihan-Travis-Evans- Reed-Dack-Graham) is very high quality for this division. Also players previously who looked a bit dodgy earlier in the season - Armstrong, Bell - seem to be seriously improving just at the right time. I'd put some of that at the feet of Travis also as he has totally transformed our energy and mentality in midfield - providing more protection for the back and getting the ball forward better. neophox Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Exceptional good but we could had scored a few more... dont like the showboating in the end. Quote
dallydally Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 4 wins on the bounce. Another clean sheet. Just outside the playoffs. What is there not to like? 1 Quote
Exiled in Toronto Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Marvellous stuff. Bell’s best game for us; Evans’ best game for us; Rodwell and Travis have saved us £15 million; Lenihan looks a different player. Who knows where we could finish up Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Fantastic victory this. Great to see us put the yards in for the whole 90. Won’t hold out any hope, but is there a slim chance that Blingy may loosen the purse strings with the play-off spots not a million miles away? Quote
Paul Mellelieu Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Exceptional performance. Travis, Armstrong, Rodwell helping to transform the team. Quote
Mr. E Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Brilliant, this result and performance has been coming for a long time now it feels. After the 3rd Hull completely gave up, but that's credit to us because we crushed them in almost all departments today. Quote
Blue n whites Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 For me Evans as fantastic. Did what he is good at exceptionally well. He's been good this year but looks Travis has upped his game. Great team performance. How have hull been on a good run. They where very poor 2 Quote

I think it shows that while most of us would like Travis and Reed as CM, we do need a guy there that can mop stuff up and be a little more defensive. At least until we can shore up the defense a little - which, actually, we have done very well of late. Quote
tomphil Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Travis has been a revelation just having a proper midfielder in there alongside a tidy defensive one gives the team an extra dimension that's been missing as long as I can remember. That's no dig at Smallwood who's done a good job for us and will again but the pairings from now on must be one of each not two of the same I hope Tony holds his nerve with that this season and beyond. 8 Quote

Buying or loaning a top striker now would make a lot of sense. Don't think that's Tony's style though. He'll want to be loyal to the existing players who are performing. Quote

However, injuries meant they were weak at centre back. This result sends a message to the division- Rovers are in the promotion chase. 1 Quote
JacknOry Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 8th in the league, 3 points from playoffs (though a fixture ahead of a few - we wont think about that though hey!) Quote

rovers11 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Best performance of the season. We controlled the game from start to finish and always looked threatening going forward. They never really threatened our goal and any attack they did have was quickly snuffed out. Excellent all round, 1 Quote
