Whats your best 11? I don't see how this is our best starting 11, whatever stats you take into it. Reed has never played there for us Bennett is not a left back Dack not a left winger If you were picking our best 11, would you not use a formation that we actually use? SBlue Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) 4-2-3-1 Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Reed Travis Bennett Dack Armstrong Graham Similar but 4-3-3 ish Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Bennett Travis Reed Dack Armstrong Graham or, I’d like Raya Rodwell Lenihan Mulgrew Bennett Reed Travis Bell Dack Armstrong Graham It’s some combination of them lot. With Bennett and Nyambe being the toughest choice as wing backs. Rothwell a perfect impact sub, and Rodwell needs a few more performances like the last two to really trouble Cpt. TM's trajectory for sure. Quote

Oldgregg86 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Evans has played in the centre of our midfield for years and it took a kid to come in and show him how a midfielder has to be able to break up play and then contribute to the attack, the latter of which Evans can't do. His limitations as a midfielder have held us back for years along with the mediocrity that has played alongside of him. Players like Travis and reed are proper midfielders. Can do both sides of the game, like midfielders should. Limited players like Evans , Lowe, Smallwood will only take you so far, regardless of how well he played today Quote

But I don't think he would have a centre mid performance like Evans put it today in him Firstly Bennett doesn't go hiding when things aren't going well and his presence is known. Secondly he is more of a goal threat and has more composure in the final third as well as a decent shot. His energy and attitude drives the team in a way I've never seen Evans do. Ability wise probably not to much in it, however Bennett can do everything Evans can. You can't say that the other way around 1 Quote

He looked energetic, but to say he should replace an international centre midfielder is a bit of a leap! Quote

I'm not taking anything away from Evans today or when he has played well but imo he is a limited mediocre championship midfielder and Travis and reed coming in this season highlighted that. I'm sure people will agree with me and I'm sure I will be called crazy. After all it's a game of opinions. And Bennett is an international player ? Quote

I wouldn't be having Bennett in central midfield ahead of any of Evans, Travis, or Reed (who is in my opinion our best central midfielder) . Bennett doesn't use the ball well enough when ever he plays central midfield he gives the ball away too much either with wayward passing or speculative long range shots. 1 Quote

I really like Bennett as a player. Just checked about Bennett there. No caps, but was called into the Jamaica squad. Surprising he has no caps. Worse players have played for them! Quote
