Right back to where we were in 16/17. Don't worry the 20 mill we get for Brereton will cover it. 2

Also said there is a consensus that we arent messing about this window. Sounds like carson being looked at. 53 minutes ago, Wing Wizard Windy Miller said: Not one mention of a defender. Even Nixon (who usually bangs the drum about having money to spend) reckons there's not as much as Tony thought. Was this the same interview? Those comments seem incompatible (not as much money as Tony thought, but we're not messing around...which we also seem to definitely be doing so far).

CambridgeRover Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 Bloody hell, I see 15 new posts, expect some news and then realise of course we haven't bought someone. Repeated trips to an empty fridge
tomphil Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 When or if Nixon actually appears to know stuff it's time to get worried as far as i'm concerned. The least he knows the better. 1

Hah, we'll be lucky to get £2m for the lad at this rate let alone £20m. Big season for Brereton next season, he really needs to show what he can do, and Mowbray needs to give him the opportunity to do so. If we get another season like this season where Mowbray shunts him out wide for 15 minute cameos every so often then I think the fans have every right to be heavily critical of the money wasted on that transfer. 3

Tormund Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 Didn’t Carson get dropped for that young lad Roos? And that young lad made some howlers from what I saw at the end of last season.

SBlue Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 (edited) I’d be alright with Joe Hart tbh Been there, done that etc Maybe I’ve just forgotten the extent of how utterly shit he was for England Edited July 8, 2019 by S8 & Blue
AspRover Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 (edited) People wrote off Robinson I guess, and he did OK for us for a few years. ? (Clutching at straws to the point of near sarcasm) Edited July 8, 2019 by AspRover

I looked on BBC Sport website & noticed that both Boric (So'ton) & Worm (Spurs) are out of contract - if their personal terms aren't exorbitant & they're prepared to play oop North, I'd have either ahead of Carson or Hart

They tanked when he was in goal. But they were used to Heaton and Pope and downgraded to Hart temporarily. Time now, for us, Hart is probably still an upgrade on recent keepers. 2

To be fair I gave up listening after the first 15 mins. What he did say was we seem to have moved away from the buy young to sell for £10 mil down the line model into a ' here and now' approach. Which in his eyes was more sensible. Except so far it seems to be a 'been and gone' strategy. Take anything Nixon says with a pinch of though. Edited July 8, 2019 by Wing Wizard Windy Miller
Popular Post Miller11 Posted July 8, 2019 Popular Post Posted July 8, 2019 Mowbray: So Madam, Balaji, thanks for taking the time to speak to me Balaji: No problem Tony. As you know we are passionate, knowledgeable, supportive and humble Desai: I trust you are telling the peasants that at every given opportunity Tony? Mowbray: Oh yes, rest assured I am. But the reason I’ve called you today is we desperately need a new goalkeeper Desai: What’s a goalkeeper? Balaji: It’s a servant who cuts the grass Mowbray: Forgive me Bala, I think you’re thinking of a groundskeeper... goalkeeper is a position. We need a new player Desai: A young, exciting, attacking player? Mowbray: Well, no. Not really... it’s kind of a specialised position? Balaji: Can Benno not cover it? Mowbray: Ordinarily I’d say yes, but I don’t want to lose his energy and quality at right back. Desai: Can we not manage without one? Mowbray: Not really. The goalkeeper is the one that’s allowed to use their hands Balaji: Oh, that should be an easy job! Desai: Can we borrow one? Mowbray: That’s what I was hoping. I’ve got my eye on one Desai: Hmmmm, I don’t know about that Tony. We should really let the experts identify the players. Bala! Give Shebby a call Balaji: We aren’t friends anymore Desai: Well Where’s that list of Jeromes friends gone? Mowbray: I’ve taken the liberty of providing a video package. A kind of highlight real that shows what caliber of player we are dealing with. It shows the pinnacle of his career Desai: This is most unorthodox, but I’m intrigued. Let’s see it. * Mowbray presses play * Balaji: Wow! Desai: Authorised! 14
