See Brentford have released Yoann Barbet and Moses Adebajo. Both would be improvements if we could get them.

Barbet made 33 appearances in the league this season (34 last season), plays CB and LB apparently, and is only 25 years old. Any idea why they've released him? Seems odd on paper.

Odubajo doesn't seem to have played much football in the last three seasons, but managed 30 for Brentford (including 8 subs). Also 25, they only signed him last summer.

Edit - I found an article about why Barbet has left. His decision more than the club's it seems. Claims it's for a new challenge, and made a comment implying it was also because the contract wasn't good enough. Linked with Newcastle, Villa and Norwich...I don't think that's one we could get. On a free too, wages will be too high if those kinds of clubs are sniffing. Odubajo was released by the club though, they had an option for another year on him.

Worth remembering that the Dingles developed a string of Prem class centre forwards and sold every one of them- Austin, Vokes, Ings. Woods who they have now probably the least dangerous.

More than one way of pushing through but I'd like to keep Dack.

At the very least as Mowbray pointed out, he is an insurance against FFP problems because we will be forced to sell in the summer of 2020.

Good forwards are always the most valuable and saleable assets and the key there for Burnley was sensible re-investment after each sale i'd wager, something you don't associate with our lot....yet.

They must've had some hellish good scouts looking around instead of picking off agent lists, something you do associate with our lot.  To think you could probably sign most of that dingle lot named for the price of one Brereton and times and prices although inflated haven't gone that daft.

We need to get wise and hopefully the more independent recruitment model TM is on about does actually take shape but I certainly wouldn't rule out keep scouring the lower English leagues in favour of lower foreign ones.  They need to put the making of a potential player first and foremost over potential quick value increases.

You are correct but a team that was promoted last season. In my opinion he has to give them this season to prove themselves and see if they can make that transition.

A season is too long.

Bit confused.  The names knocking around so far seem to be a mixture of second choice keepers or league one maybes.  Not what we need to upgrade the first team.

I'm hoping this is the B list and we get the A list authorised.

This is the rumour list made up by fans and journalists. It's neither an A or B list

They didn't need all season to prove that they couldn't, to be fair.

Once it was apparent they couldn't, they should have been dropped.

We were doing well until February as I recall

Uninspiring - especially the fact that he cannot spell Hello or Privilege.

That said, obvious lazy journalism.

He's not all that according to some Bolton fans (this view had been expressed before he handed in his notice) He didn't manage to force his way into a very poor team this season either. Luca Connell, on the other hand, has apparently put Bolton on notice that he's off and would appear to be a much more interesting potential target.

They've not even said that we are in for him, just that we were linked with him last year and now he's free. At least they're not claiming anything untrue.

I have no recollection of that guy at all. Just checked tough and he did indeed play for us. Was that under Bowyer?

Ya, you can call HITC "news" alright!

Yes I am pretty sure he was signed by Bowyer, did not have an impact at all. The only thing I remember him by is the header he should have scored, but put it in the crossbar instead. Haven't set the Turkish league alight either it seems..

Hit the bar a couple of times, as I recall. Didn't look all that dreadful as a free transfer, albeit with a very untidy first touch. Better option than Chris Brown anyway.

We have an honest workmanlike team with potential youngsters to fit into it, one flair player of note and one reliable but aging goal poacher couple with one and only one solid developing centre half.

We don't need anymore workmanlike players particularly not for back up what we now need bolting onto this squad is a bit of steel, some pace wide Chapman or no Chapman and some much needed height and presence in the middle of defence.

I cringe when I see names of grafters just because they are grafters.  Time to think outside the box a bit, specialists in defence or midfield instead of multi-positionalists and a few more artists before the soldiers.

We had a pretty bad November and December. We got smashed by Preston and Wigan remember. It briefly picked up in January with an excellent win against WBA, a really good 3-0 win against Hull and expected wins against Ipswich & Millwall, but 4 of the 5 months between November - March were very poor. Not sure why we suddenly picked up form in January but thank goodness we did, because it meant we were never really in any danger of getting sucked into the relegation fight.

Just noticed Sheff Utd have placed Ben Heneghan on the transfer list.

Someone we may be interested in seeing as we wanted him two seasons ago? Or is he simply not cut out for the championship?

And what would people think of us going after Scott Hogan?

And I've not seen the 3 words 'Bolton', 'Wanderers' & 'ace' side by side for a VERY long time!?

Think there will be a queue for a few of the Sheffield United lads, admire the cut throat nature of Wilders decisions here, no right or wrong way of course but polar opposite to Mowbrays loyalty to players

#GiveThemAChance !

Hogan was on loan to Sheff Utd from Villa btw, I reckon he's on a pretty hefty wage there. Probably out of our price range.

Add Rodriguez to that list.
