MarkBRFC Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) *Tumbleweed* Day before a game without a thread, can tell the season is over eh? Probably around a thousand Rovers fans there again at a guess, 700 sold as of a couple of days ago. Usually like Rotherham away, but a bus journey between Manchester & Sheffield has put me off this time around. 2-0 Rovers, Graham & Dack to get the goals. Does anyone care? blueboy3333 Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 They've drawn their last 4 games. We've arrested our losing streak with a draw. It's gonna be a draw. Tony will 'put the point in the bag' and move on. 2-2 Quote
Uddersfelt Blue Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 I’ll be there. Fairly short trip for me so no problem. As for the game, we need to make sure we don’t get dragged into a relegation scrap so no relaxing or experimenting with young players at this stage. Rotherham always tough to beat at home but if we are up for it then we should get at least a draw. If not then I can only see a home win. 2 Quote
roversfan99 Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Raya Nyambe Rodwell Mulgrew Bell Evans Travis Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham Subs: Leutweiler, Reed, Bennett, Smallwood, Nuttall, Brereton, Chapman/Butterworth Need to get a win considering recent forn and Rotherham are poor hence their league position. Reed has been out of form and Bennett doesnt provide anywhere near enough so id give Rothwell a game, perfect chance for him. Very hamstrung defensively. 1 Quote
JHRover Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 We can't afford to lose this one having lost to Reading the other week. That was an atrocious result and a defeat here will be even worse. People may think that it is hysterical but lose here and the gap is 'only' 11 points which will put pressure on us to grab a couple of wins from somewhere quickly. It won't be easy, they are tough to beat at their place but are draw specialists. Nobody surely expects us to keep a clean sheet so once again we'll be looking like needing 3 goals or more to have any chance of winning. 1 Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) Need a win. Should be a win 1-1 with a late avoidable equaliser Richie Smallwood to pick a 4-3-2-1 and play himself as captain Edited March 1, 2019 by Oldgregg86 1 Quote
philipl Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Rotherham are big brutes so we need to be agile and quick for this one. Also probably owe us a beating for us losing at Reading.. As has been pointed out, they have drawn the last five. We should end that sequence for them by winning there but I suspect we will end it the wrong way. If Chapman is anywhere near fit, put him on the bench. I would not have Brereton in the 18- he will get bullied in this one. Quote
Ewood Ace Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Leutwiler Nyambe Rodwell Mulgrew Bell Evans Reed Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham Subs: Raya, Magloire, Smallwood, Travis, Bennett, Chapman, Nuttall If we turn up with the right attitude then I think we will win. If we turn up expecting to win like we did at home to Rotherham then we may well come unstuck again. Quote
arbitro Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 My worry is that their physicality will be far too much for some of our lightweights. Last season we were in the box seat and looking good for a win as the game headed towards stoppage time. They chuck a big centre half up top, Mowbray panics and brings Elliot Ward on as a third centre back in a five and they score. I think this is pertinent in light of Mowbrays latest interview about conceding last on. It's simple for me - keep a clean sheet and we win. So a draw or defeat it is then. 2 Quote
47er Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Exactly the sort of game we lose! That's when we're playing well!! 1 Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 I could be wrong but I think I read that they’re the only football league club not to taste victory in 2019. We all know what will happen. 2 Quote
Butty Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) Only 700 sold as of a few days ago, think that shows the fact most of us are looking too next season now. We’d have easily took 2000 if we were nearer the top or in a fight at the bottom.. It’s boring having nothing too play for! Saying that, I’ll be delighted if we win tomorrow. Got the feeling it will be a score draw though. 1-1 Edited March 1, 2019 by Butty Quote

I'm going via Leeds to avoid the replacement bus leg of the journey. Meeting up with a Rotherham fan I met on my jollies a few years ago. That, & the fact I need the ground, is my motivation to bother. 1 Quote

Every time I've been to Rotherham in the last few years we've been at 1,500-2000 so surprisingly slow sales. Quote
tomphil Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) 1100 sold so should be a few more there come the day, not bad at all considering they all seem to have basically thrown this season back onto the middle shelf. Edited March 1, 2019 by tomphil 1 Quote
@roverseas Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Hoping for a victory here for Rovers, and perhaps a couple of surprise additions on the bench. I read earlier in the week Big Ben scored his first goals in Rovers colours, hoping he could swing in to action this time in the Big Apple stadium. Perhaps Chappers might get a spot on the bench too. It will be HUGE to get a win with our up coming local fixtures, we need to settle some scores from earlier in the season. Match buildup starts now! Quote
Don Said Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Should be similar numbers to what was a very good, noisy away end at Birmingham. Last week was actually really enjoyable. The season petering out means that we're at the game supporting the team not bothered about owt else other than that game and that day out. Would obviously love to be fighting further up the league but it's nice/rare to have an almost stress free day following Rovers! Quote
Mercer Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Seems like some are worried by 'the mighty' Rotherham. Some perspective needed. Might be a tad physical but hey ho, it's football and it's the Championship! We are playing third from bottom of the league! Get Brereton in - what is he, man or mouse PhilipL? He's been bought to fire us some goals. Can only see a Rovers' win here. Backed the win at 15/8 and 3-1 at 22/1. Fill yer boots and have a bit of fun with the winnings! 1 Quote

Backroom Tom Posted March 1, 2019 Backroom Posted March 1, 2019 Need some good feeling back A win and a Brereton goal please Quote
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Who knows with this team ? In fact who knows what the team will be ? We could do with a win but I fear some of them will already be thumbing through their Summer holiday brochures and the Rotherham lads will be fighting for their lives. If we do win we'll need to be 3 goals up going into the last 10 minutes. Quote
