Another of a decent PL squad basically forced out in a cost cutting exercise.

I saw it that, like Samba, he was a boat rocker who would go on strike if he wanted more money - no matter who was manager. Good player, terrible attitude.

Got rid of anyone else any good too till we got relegated. Only took one and a half seasons!

Paid good players to leave so we could replace them with rubbish.

The worst era ever gone through by Rovers fans in our long history, the deliberate dismantling of a Premier League team so the rorts could get underway and still people say "yea, that player had a bad attitude, we did well to get rid"

Unbelievable.

He kicked off under Sam, in the good old days before Kean. Didn't he even get skanked off a shop worker for 50k who picked him up from the airport or something strange?? Decent player, but alas, a money oriented, boat rocker. Samba too kicked up a fuss when he wanted a pay rise, so let's not kid ourselves that the players were angelic, fight for the badge types before egg head tipped up. We've always paid very well and often been held to ransom - the true gents, settled players and hardest workers are few and far between...and Ewood's finest chavs tend to boo those.

Wasn't that incident Givet?

I don't recall Samba kicking off under Allardyce. Seem to remember he kicked off in January after Allardyce was binned off because he saw a good manager sacked for no reason and replaced with a total clown.

Who can blame him?

By and large modern footballers are a spoilt lot, too much momey, too much time on their hands to spend it, everybody idolising them and they are often only kids away from home. Not surprising how some go off the rails.

That is where management comes in. We had it, we threw it away. In any case, Rovers new owners at that time didn't discriminate between those who had the right attitude and those who didn't. Nelsen, Salgado,Emerton were all decent blokes as far as I could see but it made no difference.

Let's keep the blame where it truly lies eh?

It's no coincidence that our Gallic contingent were all boat-rockers that season (Nzonzi, Givet, Samba). You wouldn't want any of them in the trenches.

Funny how they where perfectly good under a proper manager and board.

Would you stand idly by if you saw your team being dismantled, your manager being replaced by a drunken idiot and team-mmates not being played because they didn't fit the mould of being cheap and rubbish?

Nzonzi had problems with Allardyce, and Samba would hold us to ransom every year for a new contract.

When the going got tough, they jumped ship.

Jumped ship?

Whether they wanted out or not, they were going. All part of the change to a new silky skilled passing side, built on younger and hungrier players from the lower leagues, - being honed for profit along the way. - just like our club always has done.

Apparently.

Nzonzi was dropped by Sam after his first season when he came back from the summer a bit cocky. 3 weeks later he was back in the team and playing well.

John Williams policy was that if our players where offered more money elsewhere then he would do his best to match that. It's hardly the same as holding the club to ransom.

The fact about both of them, is that they always did their very best for the club on the field.

Samba was a C0ck

Make no mistake the same player who quietened down a little bit in the November when Venkys "loaned" him some money.

His brother in Alderely Edge went to a college with a friend whom was startled when he met Chris, not the nicest of lads i hear.

In desperate times, you need your best players to stand up and be counted. Too many of them used the off-pitch drama as a smokescreen to force their way out of the club.

Force? Where were you when the entire squad was sold Amarillo? Samba dared criticise the direction the club was taking when Kean took over and paid for it by having his credibility put up for public debate by Kean. We only ever heard one side of that personal attack on Samba by Kean.

Samba had milked the club for all he could, Den. The fact he left to play in one of the most racist leagues in the game, and still playing there, tells you all you need to know about his priorities ($$$$).

Not true. He got a pay rise first time he complained.

He got paid if that's what you mean Amo.

No, that's not what I mean, and you know it.

It was in Keans interest to alienate the fans against him and what's more, it worked.

In what way was it in Kean's interest? I'm curious.

Maybe Samba was 'alienated' because he was digging his heels in for another pay rise? Historically, that would seem more likely.
