Lancashire Senior Cup Final. Rovers v That Lot

I thought this match deserving of it's own thread. Ordinarily I wouldn't agree but as it's a final and against the Troglodytes then winning becomes all that matters. On paper we should win. We have the quality and experience and stuffing them at anything matters.

As of this morning there were less than 600 tickets sold.

I noticed that the sales window for tickets was extended to this afternoon, which suggested sales have been slow. Rovers fans are being given the poor end of the ground, which is a bit of a mick take given we rent the place for our u23s all year.

Great days in the Competition revived by IoM sponsorship.

In 1989 Rovers took 4,000 fans to Turd Moor is a group match which we won 0-2

The IoM festivals were good too, saw some decent teams and games there.

Really disappointing not sell a thousand for this. I'm going down now and I'm nervous. A cups a cup and against that lot it means everything.

Lancashire FA set the prices. Given the extra security, portaloo's etc that they have they to pay for will struggle to make much money. I think they saw a quick buck to be made and it could backfire on them.

Should've had it at Ewood instead of the centre of Leyland miles away from either town.  Can't be at all surprised it'll be poorly attended.

There was a Lancashire FA youth Cup semi-final played at Turf Moor about 25 years ago, and about 9,000 turned up I seem to remember ..... can't recall the score, though ...
