chaddyrovers Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Rovers are 14th in terms of goals scored and 9th in terms of goals conceded. Rovers have keep 8 clean sheets in 24 games. Same number as Brentford. Rovers are 4th in form table(last 6 games) Quote

Hence the need to sign a goalscorer if we have any money, which from Mowbrays interview, sadly we do not. 14th in terms of goals scored with 31 goals, but only 22 without Dack, with only Wigan scoring fewer. Mowbray said we don't have the sort of money it would take to replace him, so we have to find a way or 2 from the current squad we got. Ive told the way I would go and how I would play the team. OK, they were 3 up at the time but if Walton had committed such a blooper, I’m sure he would get sheds load of criticism on here. Another even more horrendous blooper from Raya again today. That’s 2 in 2 this week and cost them the match today. Quote

DeeCee Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 The league is so open this year, a few better results and we could be right there amongst the leaders. Sadly it's just seems like Groundhog Day with the team selections, formation and tactics. Poor management IMO. 1 Quote

Stuart Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) Absolute cracker from ‘our Connor’. Delighted for the lad. And follows up with a brilliant cross to get the assist for Millwall’s third. Edited January 1, 2020 by Stuart 1 Quote
scotchrover Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Millwall 3-1 Luton Mahoney’s just scored a cracker and then assisted the third, with an absolutely beauty of a cross. They look like the dark horses for the play offs to me. Quote
LDRover Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) Luton have lost their last 9 (yes 9) away from home, their last away win against? Yes, you guessed it. I totally get that anyone can beat anyone in this league but, to paraphrase Mario Balotelli, why always us? Edited January 1, 2020 by LDRover 4 Quote

Also this "only 3 points off the play-offs" sounds a lot better on paper than in reality. There are 7 (SEVEN) teams above us all fighting for that 6th place. Say we were in a last game of the season scenario. Assuming that none of the 7 teams above us were playing each other (which would make it a mathematical impossibility) We'd still need an 11 goal swing, for us to take our 3 point win, and no less than 6-7 other results to go for us on the same day. Not happening!!! A miss is as good as a mile! *Scenario written before today's games have changed things (Millwall winning etc.) Edited January 1, 2020 by Husky 1 Quote
Husky Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 West Brom don't half score a shed load of scrappy goals don't they? That's why they are top. It's okay playing like Real Madrid in patches, but a glut of 'free goals' in between all that seems to be key. Quote
rigger Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 At least we have a cup run to look forward to. Quote
Ossydave Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Just watching highlights of the rest of the days games and we might slate our defence but hell fire theres been a lot worse out there today! 1 Quote

Well. that's a comfort! There's some really strange results today in the Championship, but, once again, we couldn't take any advantage of them. 2 points from the last twelve is relegation form no matter how other clubs' defences perform. 1 Quote

Blue blood Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Good news is there are clearly some teams worse off than ourselves plus our mini run has meant we have a massive cushion over the relegation places. Let's say they pick up as they seem to be doing and win 1 in 3, it's going to still take a whopping 12 games to catch us assuming we don't get another point. And whilst we don't look that likely to win at present we'll still be picking up the odd point and none of the bottom 3 are that good. Another year where I think we're safe despite being poor. Imo the season will see another lacklustre run until the final month or two when there's nothing to play for either way and we'll pick up again. Another wasted season under TM. Quote
Husky Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Sky sure are building up Shrek for this game. Derby better hope that Barnsley don't put in an Ewood like performance and 'play like Real Madrid' again, or it could all end in embarrassment. Edited January 2, 2020 by Husky Quote

Husky Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Captain Shrek with the assist for Derby's opener. No sign of Barnsley playing like real Madrid yet. But they have just equalised thanks to Derby's on loan goalkeeper - he made Walton look like Gordon Banks on that one. Quote
