We were rock bottom effectively Mowbray relegated two sides in one season us and Coventry their fans blamed TM bit like Coyle.. No if you think we'll progress under TM dodgy venus and their Coventry mate Waggot then you are seriously mistaken.. How much for Bereteon?

I hadn't spotted that before but maybe fairer to say he was 'involved' in the relegation of 2 Clubs in the same season.

Now, how many managers have that on their CV?

Hugill proving far more effective for QPR as a loan than either of our big money strikers. This season looks an opportunity missed, with the money we've spent over the past 2 years we should have a much stronger starting 11 than we do.

Looks like Ayew is staying at Swansea, with him and Baston as a 35m and seemingly happy to be there strikeforce, with 5m Celina there too, youd have to fancy them for a top 2 push. Great win at Leeds too.

Really top 2?

The job Steve Cooper has done there is so far very good considering their cutbacks there and players sold to fund the club the summer. But that was always the plan at the club from club at the start of the summer. Before Cooper got the job

Look at the players sold or released/not given new contracts

Outgoing players

Bony, Olsson, Fer, Montero(loan), Narsingh, Ayew(2.5 mil), James(15 mil) and McBurnie(17 to 20 20 mil). about 250 to 300k a week save there in wages. so that 12 to 15 mil save per year on wages. Plus fees there.

Players they signed

Peterson (500k), Bidwell on a free, loan in 4 players in Wilmot, Kalulu, Woodman and Sam Surridge. around 40k in wages a week I would say, so that is nearly 40 to 45 mill a year out of the player budget. wow

So you would deffo say they has been massive cutbacks there wouldn't you?

But he also inherited a 35m strikeforce at Championship level, one with 84 international caps and who had interest from big European teams, and another proven goalscorer who is top scorer in the league. If that doesnt

Bony, Olsson, Narsingh, Fer and Montero barely played last season and Ayew was out on loan so hes hardly handicapped losing any of them. Most of the cutbacks have absolutely no effect on the manager.

doesn't matter how much they played but how much they are saving in wages this season!

Either could be sold at any transfer window with the Swansea owners being like they are.

Cutbacks having effect Steve Cooper? really? just imagine having that sort of money whether wages or fees to have?

Any club would happily trim players that didnt play anyway on major wages. The 2 that he will miss are McBurnie and James but hes hit the jackpot with Baston and Ayew. Any team with a 35m strikeforce at this level should have high expectations.

Swansea should be aiming for top 10 finish.

Doesnt matter if they didnt play they were still collecting a wage there. So the budget was still cut by the figure i mention before. 40 million pounds.

Huddersfield broke some rule, so what, was anyone hurt?

FA, EFL, PL are just SSDD

And still no mention of a charge for Bolton for failing to fulfill a fixture in May.

Probably it was because it was a stunt to show how advertising is taking ove the game. They most likely didn't like the spotlight shone on their gravy train.

This could be a problem for some clubs & their creative accounting techniques...

Good. How Derby get away with it is beyond me. They've been splashing for years now and I believe they have employed another equally creative tactic in the Rooney transfer. I was told as he has come in as a player/coach his wages aren't included in the players, or at least only part are. Don't know how much truth is in it as I haven't checked.

A very interesting read into the state of footballs finances. Meanwhile UEFA continue to push their "big 5" European agenda, using the study by Deloitte to state that other European leagues are not "pulling their weight" in increasing revenue. It's almost as if they are blind, or selectively blind, to the fact that the reason they can't is because these leagues are choking the game.

Not long now until studies like this are used as an argument to separate "successful" clubs into a UEFA full-season "Champions League" and we can be left alone with our sport.
