Vinjay Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Even the (or one of) Yorkshire Evening Post football reporter covering Leeds thinks they fixed it. I suppose they would have put Salford City on against any Championship side at home. Hopefully Leeds fans trash the place. Quote
Vinjay Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 Should point out there is actually a Southern section and MK have been drawn with Wimbledon. So if I'm correct in saying there will be 2 games selected for televised coverage the other choice also seems obvious. Quote

JHRover Posted June 20, 2019 Posted June 20, 2019 The Salford/Sky arrangement is already becoming painful to endure and the season is still six weeks away. Already we've got Salford v Stevenage on Sky and I'd bet my life savings their game v Leeds will be too. Evidence of course that selection for live broadcast isn't necessarily motivated by who has the biggest fanbases but by who can pull the right favours at Sky hq. It's hard not to suspect a fix there with that draw. When Sky run the whole thing including draw it can be done. Why can't the draw be held by the Football League and be operated by Football League executives rather than the Sky clique? I can (hopefully) see one or two League clubs begin to question this 'arrangement' before too long. Neville earning a fortune as Sky's poster pundit, part owner of a member club, receiving a completely disproportionate amount of coverage and publicity, receiving sponsorship income from Sky Bet and god knows how much from these games they are going to be put on tv. It's completely wrong and shouldn't be allowed. Neville should have to cease his employment with Sky if he's carrying on with this Salford stunt and Sky should cease their sponsorship of Salford too. 8 Quote

Vinjay Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 (edited) Ste U @Ste_Uren 57m57 minutes ago More Replying to @CountyPodcast @Aldehulme “Who we picking then?” “Well Leyton Orient won the league last year to return after a recent demise and lost a hugely popular person in football in recent weeks. It would be a great tribute” “But what about Salford?” “Agreed, stick Salford on” Craig Williamson @craig4271 19h19 hours ago More Replying to @SkyBetLeagueTwo @TheNationalLge and 4 others Leyton Orient win the title yet Salford v Stevenage shown live!!. What an insult to Justin Edinburgh Mike Rotchburns @seeingredonline 24h24 hours ago More That really is fucking shocking from Sky having Salford on first. Orient have just lost Justin Edinburgh, are back in the league, came up as champions, are at home the first game, and they put Salford on instead, solely because of the manc links.
