I love the Nigeria shirt, quite like this one but it lacks the punch of the super eagles one, weirdly it kind of looks better with the sponsor I’ve woke this morning tempted to go and buy it for holidays and I’ve not bought a shirt since the princes trust one Edited July 20, 2019 by Tom 1 Quote

Parsonblue Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 I must admit although I don't buy these shirts I do like this away kit. It's different, seems a touch more modern than what we usually have and when you are changing shirts every year you might as well have something that is distinctive. When I first started watching the Rovers the away kit, like the home kit never changed. Never a hint of red on the home shirts and the away kit was a plain red shirt. Commercialism in sport means shirts have to change on a yearly basis and tradition really counts for very little when there is money to be made! That is not unique to Rovers it's the same at every club. As with everything, some will love it some will hate it. The success or failure of this away kit will be dictated by sales and I suspect it will sell well simply because it's the 'latest' kit. Personally, I would congratulate whoever came up with the design for actually coming up with something different. 6 Quote
DaveyB Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Personally I think the shirt looks ok and would probably be a good shirt to wear with jeans etc, although as a functional away shirt it is inherently flawed as it is too similar in colour to the home shirt The less said about the shorts and socks, however, the better ? 1 Quote
philipl Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Two observations. 1) from a marketing viewpoint halves ARE Blackburn Rovers ARE halves. NO ROVERS SHIRT SHOULD BE IN ANYTHING EXCEPT A HALVED DESIGN. Marketeers are expert at identifying unique identifiers. Need I say more? So a big tick for being halved. 2) One half of the shirt is a chain gang uniform. Perhaps appropriate for some of our away following? 2 Quote

This is something Rovers Trust are trying to push, to more regularly use the halves as 'our brand' on away kits. This one at least demonstrates how it can be done creatively without solid halves being a requirement. 1 Quote

Regardless of what anyone thinks about the shirt, surely we can all agree that any adult who buys the shorts and socks has bigger problems than a lack of taste. Personally I’m amazed that anyone thinks that green trim on any Rovers shirt is a good idea. And a horrendous shade of green too! 2 Quote

Better in the flesh, but it doesn't quite feel right. The halves and the grey, I'm ok with now, but that green trim will make or break for many. 1 Quote
JacknOry Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 Toothpaste green - just an odd choice. I could just about accept the rest of it (although i dont really like the shades of grey or the tyre track either) but that gree is just so offputting for me. Quote

It's officially called Arcadia green although that does sound like its something to do with a pension stealing billionaire. Quote

I'm amazed that you of all people, Philip, consider that there are four halves in a whole shirt.? I'm retiring to the bunker now before I get blasted. Quote

Roverthechimp Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Watching highlights i felt it looked like something from Bundesliga, Austria or Switzerland. Still don't like it as a Rovers kit but perhaps i'm old fashioned... Quote
