Backroom Tom Posted August 3, 2019 Backroom Posted August 3, 2019 I can remember 3 saves that Walton had to make, I don’t recall their keeper making one 20 minutes between their winner and full time and not a single meaningful attack whilst the boss makes a bizarre sub that he had obviously already set his mind on and didn’t or couldn’t adapt his plan 4 Quote
Popular Post Butty Posted August 3, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 3, 2019 Made me laugh also seeing Gallagher finish the game on the wing, there was one point he tried to dribble past someone and the ball got stuck under his feet. HE’S NOT A FUCKING WINGER SO DONT PLAY HIM THERE 10 Quote
rock steady Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Today can't bode well for Brereton eh? 1 Quote

Roverinbelfast Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Boy that hurts. Absolutely ruined the weekend and with what appears to be a very hard run of fixtures coming up it's very hard to be positive about anything after that performance. The new keeper looked awful, Bennett Mulgrew Armstrong, had stinkers. Awful just awful 1 Quote
pick32 Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 On the plus side he has 5 days to sort out the defence which was shocking today Quote
Hasta Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 2 high balls. 2 goals conceded. 6 transfer windows. 7 Quote

Against the weakest side in the division who did nothing all game. Furious. Bad team selection to start with but yet again, it’s the defence that falls apart. Mulgrew is nowhere, Bennett a liability and Bell half asleep. Walton looks less reliable than Raya which is an achievement. His days are numbered if this carries on. The sad thing is his days probably aren't numbered. The players are partly culpable but Mowbray cost us that game there. Making 2 subs when we were well on top and insisting on that God awful defence. But TM's pal is in charge so he's going nowhere. 1 Quote

No more Bennett, no more Mulgrew, move downing to left back and put rothwell in. Sign a damn decent, experienced defender for the love of all things sacred. Substitutions where actually insane. Gallagher is even less of a wide player than Brero. His subs basically allowed the game to get away from us. Also, it's my birthday today and rovers have now spoilt it a touch lol. Gonna be a loooong hard season if he doesn't budge on the clear and obvious issues in this team. Have a good one, lad! Get sloshed 2 Quote
des Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 I have not said much to-date as I wanted to get the first game done with.by the looks of it it's the defence again everyone know it but our manager if this carries on for 2 to 3 games them he as to go Quote
CambridgeRover Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Is Amari Bell the only defender that Mowbray has purchased that started today? Bloody hell, thinking about that he really is inept at organising defences Quote

USABlue Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Pissed at Mowbary. This past summer.I watched.girls defend with bigger balls than we have. Quote
SoldierMo Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Blame TM he is too cautious get rid bring in Johnson atleast he will play the right players in their positions and let them attack...absolute joke Quote
Backroom Popular Post DE. Posted August 3, 2019 Backroom Popular Post Posted August 3, 2019 A draw would have been a poor result, a loss is absolutely pathetic. Mowbray should be ashamed of that starting line up, particularly the omission of Rothwell which IMO is absolutely disgraceful. Just shows Mowbray is the same cowardly manager he was throughout most of last season. Hilarious (not really) that he managed to crush optimism an hour before the match started with his team selection. I'm sure we'll get the usual defence of "it was the first game, weird results happen", etc, but this isn't a weird result. This is just typical Rovers under Tony Mowbray. Overcautious, turgid, bumbling, and defensively shambolic. 90 minutes in and we're already at our 2 goals a game average conceded. Excellent job. Defenders are coming. Would appreciate a timeframe on that Tony as judging by today's efforts by the usual suspects at the back reinforcements are needed ASAP, not at some time in the distant future after we're done overloading midfield and attack to the point where players like Rothwell, Graham and Brereton are on the subs bench. It's what I expected but I'm still fuming. Not sure if it's obvious or not. 10 Quote
Guest Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 If that’s the system we’re playing this season then sell Dack and invest every last penny into 3 CB’s, a RB and 2 LB’s. Quote
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Shocking result...and now for same hard games. Quote

HE’S NOT A FUCKING WINGER SO DONT PLAY HIM THERE You're gonna be in for a frustrating season as I'll bet he's played there loads more - that's where TM was largely using him when he managed him last time. Sick and tired of Mowbray tonight, really am. 1 Quote
savage90 Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 I wouldn't be against sacking him now to get the most out of this squad. 1 Quote
BankEnd Rover Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 (edited) It's crazy how much we've all looked forward to this knowing deep in our minds that our defence isn't good enough. Bowyer saying on sky sports his morning basically we were going to win and we loose. I know it's first game but this shouldnof been the easiest game of the season. We've bottled it and for someone who hasn't liked Mowbray since the start it Dosent bold well. Fulham away next...5-0? Edited August 3, 2019 by BankEnd Rover 1 Quote
