Tony Mowbray Discussion

Someone should tell Tony about the site, he might finally see some action in front of him. Knowing Tony though, he'd just bring his car to a stop over three parking spaces then sit there and watch

In fact, that'd make it all possession and no penetration for about the 708th time this season...

....With a cup of Tea and a slice of Lemon Drizzle Cake.

Is the gobshyte still here?

1 win since the end of January, 13 games, and he thinks we'll win enough games not to be concerned? Proper head in the sand stuff. I think we'll scrape enough points to survive but to be in that position from where we were is horrific. Mowbray's blasé nature about the whole thing is even worse. He's shown himself to be a manager with little to no real ambition and unfortunately that will affect the players as well. I've said it time and time again but we need a winner in the dugout who genuinely cares and gets upset if his team fail to perform and fail to win matches - not somebody who looks like he's on the verge of nodding off at any given point during the match.

If we continue our amazing recent points per game ratio we will get another 4 points.

50 points normally keeps you up... apart from when Mowbray last got us relegated with 51.

What lofty aspirations we now have thanks to Venkys.

Couldn't be further away from Jack's "Think Big"

I have been concerned for a while. Still very concerned now. What really concerns me is the amount of people saying "we will be fine" even though there is no guarantee of that and no reason to suggest that barring other clubs not getting results too, that we will be.

Looking at the table, the chances of us being overtaken by all but two of the teams below us is very slim I'd say. We've probably done enough to drag ourselves over the line. It's certainly not where we should be, though, after 4 years with a manager who has had a very unique luxury of not having to sell anybody and being funded a decent amount every season to boot.

True, but lose the next two and other results go against us and things could look far more perilous. I wouldnt fancy us getting a result if pressure was really on.

Mowbray manages and spins his tombola to the law of averages.

'I'll keep doing this and it'll come off sooner or later'

'Surely we'll win a game or two soon we're only losing one nil'

Never ever have a night at the casino with this mon but if he invites you for a game of cards grab it with both hands, you'll fleece him.

The only slight comfort in our present situation is that all of the teams below us are down there because they can't put together a decent string of results. It's possible one or two will do, as tends to happen towards the end of the season, but 7 out of the 9 below us? It isn't impossible but we would have to lose practically every one of our remaining games. Knowing our luck rather than scrape to safety we'll end up winning every remaining game, meaning absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things but giving TM a boost going into the summer and ensuring he's in situ for another dreary campaign next season.

Indeed, that would be very unsatisfactory. I just have a bad feeling we could end up in an unprecedented last day relegation. This is what following Rovers and Ireland will do to a man 🤣

No problem with people wanting to show their support for him but the flag thing was a club lead vomit inducing gimmick. Appearing for the cameras to wave towards India, it's a hark back to the shagnew crowd figure dressing up to protect certain people.

Of course the usual suspects took to social media and a few on here defending it. Even Dalglish and Souness didn't get that treatment.

Waggot OUT !

When we're allowed back in and the cameras are on the flag, someone should spark a match.

They wave this huge flag of his boat race like he's some sort of Shankly style great leader or figurehead. Then he comes out and hides slumped way up in the seats as far from the touchline he can get without going into the stands.

You really couldn't make it up.

As with everything these days, it is all propaganda and bullshit.  Something rovers have become very reliant upon. I find it absolutely repulsive that TM who has achieved the square route of bugger all at rovers is placed in a position of supposed worship. I'd wave a flag of Jack first and foremost but we cannot have our benevolent owners looking 2nd best.
