Some people have some weird ideas about the style of football we play, but we are Rovers, not Real Madrid. I’d sooner we won games than lost playing mindless 5 yard passes in our own half.

As football fans, the least we should expect is to try and win games.

Allardyce often surrendered before we took to the pitch, that’s criminal for me and is the reason why we used to take less than 500 to City, Utd and Liverpool.

But season tickets were tremendous value and we always gave the likes of Arsenal a bloody nose at Ewood. If people can’t enjoy that, then I do wonder if they’re watching the right sport.

Credit where it's due, getting Ayala fit and limited numbers mean he has found a system that is working for us. I just hope he continues to keep it simple.

I wanted him gone before Venkys turned up. Wasn't happy how he was using Kalinic or Hoilett.

I think having a list of possibility strikers or being negotiations to sign a striker with a few targets. No problem. Its just appears like we were waiting time and effort on a player not interested in coming here. Yes spend a few days on him but not weeks after weeks

Souness and Hughes are winners, they created a winning mentality, we tried to beat the big boys in their own back garden, we tried to win cups and qualify for Europe.

Allardyce was all about survival, don't bother with the cups and surrender to the big boys, especially away from home, one point above the relegation zone is all that matters and thats the reason why he's never won a thing, he's a loser.

Souness and Hughes reign here at Blackburn Rovers were great times for club and supporters. I will never forget the UEFA cup run under Mark Hughes and that Semi Final against Chelsea at Old Trafford when we were the better team and should have won.

Yep, I will regret it. But I am dreaming lol. I see so much potential in this small group of players. 

Where my thinking is now compared to the start of the season is like night and day. 

Bring Dack back into the mix and we could be on for a very good season. 

Keeping ayala fit somehow is absolutely key. Didn't Paul mcgrath play for years without training.? Let ayala do the same

Correct. He looks like a man rejuvenate this season and working with this young squad. Plus with the fans back aswell back in stadium. 

Why not? 

The spine of the team looks strong

I’d be astonished if we finish in the top half. I won’t be getting giddy when in the play off positions nor in the depths of despair when plummet down the league during the next death spiral.

Im delighted relegation seems to be off the cards but under Mowbray at best we’re mid table plodders.

Indeed, but not sure about Dack though. I hope I'm wrong, but it's a long time off, considering he never really got going last season. Off the bench though, he could still get us a goal...

It does. Tricky run coming up now though, so lets see. It seems easier to drop down the table, than move up it, so thats the test.

Mid table plodders don’t wallop an organised Cardiff team who were destroyed at times today and had a team of giants In comparison!

Well him and his team definitely gave the fans a excellent display yesrerday and currently are 6th place. Thought some of the football was as good as we seen under Mowbray. 

Mowbray just need to keep things simple and organise. No need for over thinking the game or switching tactics. Stick to playing counter attacking football

I agree. Forget the possession based dull football of last season and get the ball forward earlier. We aren’t Barcelona but we do have plenty of willing runners in the team

Dolan, Rothwell and Brereton in particular have some ability to take the ball, run at the opposition and get in behind them.

This should be our main tactic, as seen by the Dolan/Brereton combo for the second goal yesterday.

Is go as far as to say all the best Rovers sides in my lifetime (Including the PL winning team) have played like we are now. Hard working, industrious, honest lads who play on the front foot, defend for their lives and care.
 

Of course we’ve had better quality players over the years but my opinion is that this way is the Rovers way!

With any team you need to play to your strengths and not impose ways of playing that don’t suit the players skill set.

But he wanted to that style last snd before season but then didn't sign players that fitted that style. That's my biggest problem. 

Now this season we have players that fit counter attacking style and good solid defensively unit

It's probably indicative of my low expectation of Mowbray but yesterday when I saw him call Carter back from his warm up I was convinced he would go to his ill fated back five and give some impetus to Cardiff. And if everyone is honest I think lots of fans had similar thoughts. I was, in a perverse way almost pleased when I saw he was coming on for Lenihan and there wouldn't be several positional changes and a change in shape.

Overall I'm relaxed and generally enjoying the season but somewhere along the line I believe Mowbray will over complicate and over think things and make unnecessary changes. That's when we see the worst of him.

In a way giving the players and Mowbray new contracts scares me insofar as it would upset the balance. Are they all fighting so hard because they are nearly out of contract? It has happened. Maybe I'm too cynical. Obviously signing the players up is the astute financial play here. 

Mowbrays future, whether here or elsewhere will be vastly different depending on how this season goes. If he got us into the play offs and still hadn't signed a new deal, his stock would be very high. I just want him to keep keeping things simple!

I think Lenihan will sign a new deal, but I suspect Rothwell will be sold in January

I was never that keen on Sam. I seen too remember him confessing that he basically chucked a game at old Trafford that I think we lost right nil or so. But then again, I can't complain, but I often do. 

I was never happy that he was binned, especially so early after Venky's took over, alarm bells were ringing. You only bin your manager if he's taking you down, or you already have someone proven to be better already lined up. 

Ever since, we've had piss takers in charge of the club, and we're dying on our arse. 

I seen too remember John Williams binning it and saying it's clear things are going to be done differently at the  club now and it's time for me to go. How we've missed him. 

 

I don't know how I've coped with eleven years of this nonsense, I wouldn't wish if on my worst enemy. It's the lack of respect the owners show for the club that really hurts.

I liked fat Sam after ince he was just the thing the club needed. For me the football wasn’t nearly as bad as the style of football Mowbray adopted last season.

Even though we gave the big boys a bloody nose every now and again under fat Sam if we played say Man U away on Saturday then Stoke on Wednesday. He’d 100% naff off the utd game in favour of stoke. But 99% of the time in those scenarios we backed it up with wins over our nearer rivals.

Ultimately the proof was in the pudding under his management we finished his last full season in 10th and were in 10th when the Venkys rocked up. Had they left him in situ there’s no reason for me to believe we wouldn’t have finished the next few season as a mid table premier league club.
