Norbert Rassragr Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 I did like Zurab, a dependable and capable defender. He'd have been in the 1st team in any period after Nelsen and Samba left. 3 Quote

City might have wanted to know he'd get some games but as MOwbray himself pointed out he won't sign loanees whose club insist they are guaranteed starters - again FACT I was going to make a Rafa Benitez joke but it’s depressingly true 1 Quote

I'm prepared to have egg on my face, but I'll take that risk and say that this is yet more utter ITK boswollox that is completely detached from reality. The rest of his post suggests it was all just a joke. Just an odd one because the first part doesn't come across like a joke. 2 Quote

Despite my reservations about Tony as a manager I do actually think he could walk away/retire, however long he has left on his contract. He won’t be short of a bob or two. Quote

He was rarely the man of the match but more rarely was he the worst player on the team. Steady and composed on the ball and with an excellent temperament. 1 Quote

Well he was quoting a 'mole', so I don't think it was speculation either. But you can't expect to be taken seriously if you then follow up by saying Mrs M has stopped making drizzle cake. Like I say, very odd post tbh. No offence simongarnerisgod. Quote

Have you got a confession to make? It was somebody else's name used to scaremonger last time TM was getting a bit of stick. Once Brown gets another gig it'll be back to that kids coach bloke who Singh tried to get in. Or Sreve Kean the return, it's Mowbray or No way for that poster. 2 Quote
philipl Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 Another nothing afternoon courtesy Tony Mowbray Quote
Backroom Tom Posted July 4, 2020 Backroom Posted July 4, 2020 That was grim 3 games this week and I can’t remember any keeper making any saves of note, we haven’t come close to a result in any of the games Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted July 4, 2020 Moderation Lead Posted July 4, 2020 I’m not a betting man, but I wouldn’t bet on us winning a game in what remains of this season. We look terrible. 3 Quote
Popular Post tomphil Posted July 4, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 4, 2020 (edited) He and the team have treated these games like pre season friendlies after the first sprightly game back. We were ONE point off the play offs for crying out loud. Absolutely nothing to lose just have a go at it but no he has to have them bumbling along like rabbits in headlights. Yes lost to a good side today and some fighting for points but we are supposed to be fighting for a top 6 spot. If you can't motivate your team in such a good position and just go for it or go down fighting then sorry but what's the point ? Those who remember when we were last similar to what we are now will recall that under Don Mackay this is when we stepped up to the plate. Didn't make it through the play offs because we weren't strong enough the best 11 picked itself. I can cast iron guarantee that he'd have had this lot getting into the play offs are at least die trying. I can also guarantee that this fella taking over a Mackay side in similar situation would end up with us 12th. This lot now exist just to look after each other. ENOUGH ! joey_big_nose Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 I think we have a decent chance of getting a good manager in. Spine of the squad is strong (Lenihan-Travis-Dack-Armstrong) with some good young players coming through (Nyambe, Buckley, Davenport) and some good supporting players (Evans, Downing, Holtby). A lot of managers would look at that squad and think they can do something with it. In a way I feel bad for Mowbray. He's done a lot of good things. But transfers since we came up we have been really poor - not managing to address key areas of the team like striker and centre back and wasting a lot of money. Also tactically what he has tried has not worked at all. We're a solid mid table side so he has improved us over where we were when he arrived. But I do fear we will start to go backwards next year unless we make a change. I think he's jumped the shark now, and its just a matter of time. Quote
