Rubbish. They dont have to do shopping, never heard of delivery service? I've managed it, the problem is most of them are young and dont give a shit

They have kids who go to school and can come into contact with it and bring it home.  They or their wife will take the children to school.  This is going to happen throughout the season and will impact every club.

Isolating due to symptoms. Are we saving money on testing nowadays? I thought football was meant to be in a bubble. If they’ve been in contact with other players then everyone is at risk!

It’s getting worse and worse.

Thank goodness results don’t matter.

This will be happening at every club. Look at Accy Stanley, 19 positive tests from people at the club. There last two games have been postponed, every team will have players who get it at some point, if there’s a large amount then the game will be postponed, if it’s just one or two players then games will go ahead and you’ll have to do without them. That’s how it’s going to be this season.

Makes it a bit lot of a farce. Shouldn’t have restarted this season. But at least the PL clubs get their TV money.

So when would the season restart?

Surely we have to continue life as best as we can now despite Coronavirus. We have enough restrictions on our daily life as it is without having sport taking away from people lifes.

You also said constantly throughout the first lockdown that football should never have restarted last season. So according to you, not a single professional match should have been played since March.

If the world had listened to you, football would no longer exist.

And using the same logic neither would cricket, golf, cycling, motor racing, horse racing, rugby union, rugby league, athletics, swimming, snooker, darts or international chess tournaments.

In the face of incredible government incompetence (not just in this country) many sports governing bodies deserve a lot of credit for keeping things going. ECB deserve particular credit IMO for delivering a full international season and a credible domestic season in these circumstances.

Football doesn’t really exist.

We have a fake version that we all supposed to just pay for and pretend it’s the same. While losing individual players and matches to the virus that caused this mess in the first place.

The end to last season was a farce and this season is shaping up the same way.

How can it be a fair competition if we have to leave out players because of symptoms. Assuming of course this isn’t Mowbray’s latest smokescreen for his tombola machine.

By the way, you do appreciate that we are likely to enter a second lockdown - almost certainly in the North West - because things started up again too soon? Last season should have been scrapped for sure but money talked.

Money pays for the clubs to stay in existence. Would you really prefer them to go bust ?

I agree with you Stuart in respect of the fairness angle, in respect of the competition and the pricing of behind closed door events etc; but I wouldn't underestimate the mental health benefits football and other sports bring to people, even in its 'unfair' form. We all get frustrated when Rovers lose or play badly, but I'd rather pay my £10 and watch it regardless of whether we win, lose or draw, than have to endure month after month of desolation, depression and ennui. with little or no end to it in sight.

Absolutely.

It is so frustrating, when key players "disappear" at the last minute.

Rovers Covid issues do seem to have come, when other players are out injured.

As for all clubs having such problems, of course, it does not happen on an equal basis, where our opponents have similar issues at the same time that we do.

I think there is so much frustration building here, that fans are now punishing Mowbray for events that are not his fault.

We can't expect their children to not receive an education in order to keep a football bubble from bursting. Like everyone, footballers should be doing all they can to prevent the spread of the virus, but given the nature of the virus its inevitable that some players will get infected.

The issue is the scrapping of the mandatory twice a week testing, why in gods name has that happened ?

Apart from the usual penny pinching and EFL incompetence of course but how can they or us actually moan when there's only half arsed regulations ?

Seems that Mowbray is naive to the vulnerability we currently have against anyone half decent on the counter attack. He doesnt think it is anything that he has done.

Play with 2 full backs as wingers and 2 of 3 central midfielders high up in the current manner and we will keep conceding against half decent sides.

He's blaming the players again.

I can't bring myself to read it.

The season will last until May - you can't seriously be suggesting no player at this or any other club will not have contact with the outside world until then.

It is not a question of not having contact with the outside world. It is about keeping to the same rules that everyone else should be adhering to.

I understand that. My post was in reply to a suggestion that players should be cooped up for months on end.

Cooped up.? They are out in the fresh air every day....? they don't get fuloughed and are paid handsomely.   I think they could act more responsible when it comes to this and think how lucky they are....cooped up.?

Your post to which I replied appeared to suggest that footballers should be prevented from contacting families, friends etc for months on end. That is not lucky.

Nobody said they have to be isolated and never have contact.....,  they have to not go to the tesco, not piss off to dubai or wherever when they get chance, not to have mates round, not to have close contact with people apart from their immediate close ones.  Is that difficult to ask, considering they all probably live in nice big houses....Joe Rothwells garden looks like a field.  Our season will fizzle out because of it potentially,  so if you're on their side....fair enough.

I am on the side of fairness and common sense. Which of our players have been in Dubai ? Which of our players have broken the rules ?

And if they still contract it ..?
