To be fair, if we are going to go back, at least go back to someone who was brilliant for us, not spend loads on someone like Gallagher who was average in his best season!

But we arent signing Rhodes.

Wages far too much for too

Young, English, International youth team honors. Lets hope he turns out better than the others we have signed using those parameters.

I will exclude AA from that list as he is on course to have his best season at this level. The rest, BB, SG, and HC have yet to show their worth.

That sounds like TM told CM he would be down the pecking order, he didnt like it, they had a row, and off he went on loan. Also sounds like it will be the same thing now that he has returned and now CM is fine with it. He probably thinks he will get in at some point and will not have another relegation on his CV.

We struggle to score goals (especially now Dack is out) and he is a goal scorer.

Yea which would be great if we had wingers whipping balls in or attacking mids unlocking defences and creating a lot of chances. Play the way we are , and have done since mowbray arrived, pumping long balls/ set pieces/ breakaway goals and we don’t play to Rhodes strengths at all. Even when he was here first time round he had more quality to provide for him. It’s also a no goer, think we should put this to bed. Celtic would be great for him, comes alive in the box for a dominant team , good finisher from pen box in

The Mulgrew and Wigan thing is bizarre. He looked like he was getting on really well there by all accounts. Bust up with Cooke perhaps?! I'd struggle not to lamp him one to be fair.

Basically been told the same at Wigan as here, didn’t see point of sticking it out to be in same boat in the summer, came back to pursue a final payday for a couple of seasons abroad in order to settle family. Not that hard to understand

Dunn was still easily worth bringing back. He was crucial for us when fit for a fair bit of his time.

I don't disagree. I was delighted to see him back, but I still regret the fact that he missed so many games.

Personally i'd love to Rhodes at a big Scottish Prem club and bang in another 20 in a season. Would be such a shame for his career to fizzle out without being able to show what he's all about again.

He just needs the right place.

Damn, a fractured eye socket and cheekbone for Evans; sounds horrendous!

Best wishes Corry.

Hopefully Rankin Costello will be given the chance to step up when fully fit. And Downing looked good alongside Travis, if we sign a left wing player. Like many others I am tired of strikers being played on the wing.

Jeez, look at the gut on him!! Might have to dust the old boots off myself at this rate! ?

Pretty sure that's mostly an optical illusion from the creases on the shirt.

Haha. But mostly, they don't work, I would say.

The exceptions are Hendry, Berg and Byrom.

Dunny never really hit the heights after his return imo. Lots of time out through injury and non-selection.

I can easily add to the failures...Pickering, Metcalfe for starters..Carew?

John Byrom wasn't the same player when he came back to Rovers. He'd been away for the best part of 10 years. Letting him go to Bolton in the first place was an idiotic decision. We spent loads on the likes of Jim  Fryatt, Frank Lord, Don Martin, Bryan Conlon, Barry Endean, John O'Mara, Mike Hickman, Ken Beamish,  Gordon Hindson, trying to replace him and only the Don came near in terms of ability. All the while Byrom was banging them in over at Bolton.

Agreed. Huge mistake to let Byrom go in the first place.

Doubt he is better than Bell.

If he can stop a cross coming in and make simple passes to his OWN teammates he will be better than Bell

Why not check on Brentfords striker Marcus Forss, scored 11 goals in 18 games recently in League one but has returned to Brentford, contract expiry in summer.

Looks promising but has returned to Brentford because he is injured and per Wikipedia looks to be contracted through to June 2021.
