OJRovers Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 I did worry who would cover Mulgrew’s goal contribution. Quote

Boroblue Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 The new style appears to be tedious passing. Millwall have fallen into the Mowbray trap and are doing the same. I blame both brexit and global warming. maybe it’s a venky thing and I bet it’s tax deductible. Not that I have any accountant qualifications. 1 Quote

Way way out his depth. Great talent but rovers first 11 isn’t the way to harbour it at the moment. Needs a loan Quote
Angry_Pirate Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Absolute paint drying football here at home with Mowbray. A footballer should make it 2-0 there... unfortunately for us the chance fell to Elliott Bennett. Quote
Stuart Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Doing ok at the back but with no players over 6 foot, we need to stop launching the ball forward and keep it on the deck. Lucky to be 1-0 up. 0-0 performance right now. 1-0 would be a great result if it stays like this. Quote

Husky Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 (edited) A lucky brilliant shot and a scuff way wide aside we haven't created much upfront but have looked fairly untroubled at the back. It's certainly one of those games where you wish you were sat in the sun soaked side of the ground. Edited September 14, 2019 by Husky Quote

He called for it, Cunningham did a perfect lay-off and Williams hit it sweetly, exactly where he was aiming. Best Rovers goal for ages. 3 Quote
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Feels like a friendly. Atmosphere dead. Exciting football nowhere in sight. First game I've seen live this season and I'm bored. Quote
Stuart Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Graham left the half time warm up to have photos with fans at the front of the BBE - including holding someone’s baby! Goodbye...? Quote

Pretty dull this, like all other home games so far this season. There’s such a lack of quality on show from both sides which means we could win this, but yeah it’s dull. Btw - where’s that tacky small-time goal music come from? Thought we were past that stage. Edited September 14, 2019 by frosty Quote
Exiled in Toronto Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Highlight other than the goal of the half was Johnson doing a McNamee on one of theirs with a belated ankle stomp. I’m liking this guy more and more. 1 Quote
Gogger Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Armstrong just looks lazy and uninspired. We have been really poor going forward, midtfield pairing of Downing, Johnson and Buckley not working. Appart from a sweet goal nothing is happening. At least we are ahead, but I cant phantom why Buckley/Downing is ahead of Travis/Rothwell 2 Quote
Tugay-is-God Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 Gally on for Buckley at half-time Quote

Backroom Tom Posted September 14, 2019 Backroom Posted September 14, 2019 Right idea bringing Buckley off Quote

The odd "phase" here and there is hardly a tried and trusted formation. As for Downing, that could be a fair whack of running about for him, and with Buckley as well in there, that's a lot of dirty work left to do too. Either that or Johnson is a very busy boy. It may well be a surprising masterstroke but I don't think anyone can say it is not unusual for us or risky. We don’t always start in that formation but at least 3 times - vs Sheffield United, vs Cardiff at home - we’ve gone to that setup. Give over indeed. Quote
