The rest have been crap overall. Name me one team that plays successfully on the break that has a big slow lump like DG in his own up front..... Quote
bluebruce Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Entirely expect to get spanked in this one. Don't think Preston are all that, but they're in great form and we're in piss poor form. Actually be happy if we get a draw (depending on the circumstances...) Quote

booth Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Probably the worst time ever to play Preston. Quote
bazza Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Yep. On paper they should hammer us. But, as we all know, football is a funny old game. I think we might get something from this one. Quote
stinny1 Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 We will play Bennett at right back Evans in midfield and Gallagher on the wing and get our ass handed too us 5 Quote

Id try and go for our paciest possible team and hit them on the break rather than the slow boring easy to defend against tactics Melton Mowbray seems to enjoy. I am assuming cunningham is out. philipl Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 No idea what the formation will be but at the very least we need a fighting performance and a sense of urgency. Quote
tomphil Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 A positive set up and performance is paramount a bad result might be forgiven if it isn't the usual surrender monkey crap that keeps haunting this team. No need for it with what's at the disposal now and in particular midfield were Preston seem tigerish yet depending on the ridiculous rotation selection we often appear tame. Fight fire with fire not a feather duster. Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted October 9, 2019 Moderation Lead Posted October 9, 2019 Obviously anything can happen, but with the way we are currently going and they way they’re currently going, we are on target for a mauling.... Quote
darrenrover Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 Should be a sell out, without question. Look at TM and Waggott for reasons it won't be. Quote
tomphil Posted October 9, 2019 Posted October 9, 2019 In local derbies the form book often goes out the window the desire of who wants it more for their fans and club is a great leveller. So players , manager and yes FANS step up to the plate let this be a pivotal point in the season please. 2 Quote

I can still see Mowbray going for a draw and everyone saying before i'll be happy with a point then going bananas that we didn't go for it afterwards !!! 1 Quote
dingles staying down 4ever Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Lets see if Tony has learnt anything. Dont give Gally all the space and allow him to play. Thats theirs not ours. Quote
roverstdt Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 I think we need a new system for the team and i would like to see us try a good old 4 1 2 1 2 which i think could work quite well for us. Would love to see: ---------------------Walton----------------- Bennett---Lenihan--Tosin---Cunningham (If not fit Williams) -------------------Travis------------------------ ----------Johnson----Holtby----------------- ------------------Dack---------------------- --------Gallagher-------Armstrong------- I think Gallagher size and heading winning capability with Armstrong speed could be a great combo! stinny1 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 What i wouldn't give for two wingers Wilcox and Ripley or Miller and Sellers or even Noel the king of ewood park attacking and crossing balls and getting the fans of there seats 5 Quote
Trinidad Rover Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Cunningham out for the season. I think this should force TMs hand to play 3 at the back. If we play Bell we are essentially playing 10 men - I've never seen a worse left back at Rovers. Walton Tosin Williams Lenihan Bennet Downing Travis Holtby Rothwell Armstrong Dack Quote
