Tony - please stick with the formula of Rovers playing to our strengths. Let’s start letting other teams worry about us and make the January window worth investing in. Cheers! ? Our strengths today were led by Evans and Bennett, firm favourites of BRFCS. Excellent result. What made it so hard for us was Volkes winning everything in the air so we were never secure at the back. Rothwell was a complete passenger today which didn’t help. Personally I think our players are either too old or too inconsistent for us to put the same team out every week. Good subs today, they all contributed massively 1 Quote

yellowsubmarine Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Great to see Gally scoring. And special mention to Bennett as an impact sub. good run and pass which Gallagher stroked it home. Rothwell looked poor today, thought he was holding his hip in the first half but yet appeared for the second half. Strange game from him especially he did so well midweek. Evans was awesome today, its a shame he got the own goal, ball seemed to bounced off his shoulder and into the net. Lenihan was a weird one too, kept coming out to head the ball but kept missing them. But overall did okay with Tosin. Quote
simongarnerisgod Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 i expect three points next week, derby are there for the taking on their present form 2 Quote
davulsukur Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Absolutely get in there. Did not expect the same team as Wednesday. Did not expect 3 points away from home. Well done Mowbray and the boys. 1 Quote
Wegerleswiggle Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 I hope this resurgence doesn't deter Tony come January's window. Walton HAS to go. I would go as far to say as I would spend every penny on replacing him. 1 Quote

USABlue Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 What a FANTASTIC WIN.Did we deserve it prolly not on the run of play but well gutted out. Pleased for Gally and a very good finish. Thought we had blown it but credit to the lads they dug deep and Bennett with the assist. As good as Rothwell was the other night he was as poor today, wonder why?. Happy for the players and the travelling fans. Quote

bluebruce Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 So this win makes us the form team of the league, outside the top 3. 4 wins and a loss from 5 games. Same as Fulham. Leeds have 5 wins from 5, WBA have 4 wins and a draw. Keeping it going will be the challenge, of course, but been a while since we had such a good run so happy days! If TM has finally learnt that Nyambe is our best right back, that today's team is pretty much the best we can field right now, and to stop tinkering every week, then who knows. Quote
rovers11 Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Fantastic result. It wasn’t cavalier stuff but you have to be able to win games in various ways and I think we’ve won game in every way possible this week - playing woefully (Barnsley), playing excellently (Brentford), and by digging in (today). Have we finally found the magic formula that TM has been searching for all season? Dack absolutely class but we’ve come to expect that; Evans showing that he’s a very talented player when he’s motivated; and Lenihan showing why he’s so important to us, Bennett was very good when coming on. 1 Quote

Was holding his hip at one point and his running wasn't as strong as usual. He was playing more conservatively, which was either an instruction or due to knowing he didn't have it in him to do barnstorming runs today without losing the ball, due to whatever knock he seems to have. Back in the Hughes days we used to get to 40 points (50 required in the EFL) as soon as possible - ugly if necessary- and then we could relax and play some good football and finish well. Would be great if we could generate a nice little run. Quote
Blue blood Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 It's like a completely different team to a few weeks ago! Great result. It was being discussed how good actually are we, and when we keep it simple with the right team in the right positions we're a rather solid outfit. Yes, the squad may need some work, and a couple of first team positions need sorting too, but overall we're not a bad side and can get a result or two. Really pleased that we kept the same team and shape, and the subs responded to being on the bench for the second game running with a positive contribution when they came on. It all seems obvious stuff, but when we start doing it, it has made a massive difference. Stoke aren't a bad side despite their league position, they've got some good quality and a good manager. So to get the win that we did, especially after conceding a late equaliser is fantastic. Well done TM and the team. Quote

Along with starting our better players like Graham and Rothwell, and dropping weaker ones like Bennett at right back and Williams anywhere, it makes a huge difference. Two defensive mids so Travis isn't doing all the work also makes a huge difference too. Quote
