I've been saying this for years about Lowe and Benson - nice to see you've seen some sense.

As for a 'set piece coach', just wtf do Eustace, Gardiner and Downing do?  It's bollocks - Big Sam didn't need set piece coaches or defensive coaches and neither did the likes of Bill Shankly, Brian Clough, Kenny Dalglish - the game has gone feckin mad.

Mercer, yet again, football has move on from those days, sadly you are stuck in the past and that's 30 ears ago plus

I’ve never been convinced at all by Benson but it’s due to the evidence I’ve witnessed in the progression of keepers here rather than his history.

It can be a factor but previous accomplishments in the field aren’t the only thing to being a good coach. Usain Bolt was the best of the best, his coach wasn’t faster but knew how to focus and develop him and others

I've posted this before but Benson is an absolute grafter and does allsorts at Brockhall outside of his actual job such as general maintenance etc, always the first there and last to leave. Things like that make him well respected and unlikely to be replaced. The reason he does it is most probably because he knows how bloody lucky he is to have the job, he wouldn't get one easily elsewhere. Players obviously speak highly of him, cos he's a decent bloke. So should he be replaced? Yes. Will he? I doubt it.

With regards to Pears, some of the stuff he does isn't due to poor coaching though. He makes some very odd decisions and I can't think of a nice way to put this, but to me he just seems a bit simple.

I would like to see a change of GK coach and Lowe remove as first team coach here.

I would like to see Bobby Mimms come back as GK coach and us appointed a permanent set pieces coach in place of Lowe.

Apparently Matt Gardiner is a specialist in set pieces, so we already have one

Some folk are obsessed with him and his lack of playing experience, I find it a bit weird TBH.

I think we need a better goalkeeper and goalkeeper coach. As you say, Pears cannot be coached to not be a complete liability. He just doesn't have it.

Conspiracy Theory: Lowe & Benson are privy to some dodgy info, V's say "keep quiet, job for life"

lowe puts the cones out and blows a whistle, cheap option though he was a fairly good player so he can claim to know about the game

benson knows nothing about goakeeping apart from reading books about it,as ossydave has told us,he runs about the place making himself useful, makes eustace tea, prances around with the subs board, waxes swags beard and no doubt is the clubs doormat

these are the reasons why they are still here
