Dreyski Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 (edited) Down to four balls, us and the dingles still to go, felt a bit sick. Us at big club. Depends how much of a priority Tony sees the cup. Edited December 2, 2019 by Dreyski Quote
bazza Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Wow. Brum away. I thought we were going to get Burnley. Quote

davulsukur Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Can't believe how close we were to getting the dingles. Birmingham away, shit draw. 2 Quote
JHRover Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Relieved at avoiding the dingles. A dull draw but winnable if we want it. Dont want to play the dingles unless or until we are in the same league as them. Quote
Riverside under the drip Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 With the possible exception of Hull or Charlton, the most uninteresting, depressing draw possible. I would have gone to almost any away game save Brighton or Bournemouth away. Not this one. 1 Quote
bazza Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 The four last balls were Peterborough, Birmingham, Rovers and Burnley. We were last ball out. Quote
Bohinen 22 Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Wow. The magic of the cup is alive and kicking. What a garbage draw. Quote
arbitro Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Whilst it's not a great draw it certainly is winnable and Birmingham are always reasonably priced tickets. 4 Quote
Stuart Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Last ball out. Mowbray out! Was really hoping for a home game against the Dingles just to be able to imagine Waggott’s face. Although I wasn’t looking forward to the Tuesday morning 6am kick off with representatives of HM Armed Forces surrounding the edges of the pitch. Conversely, away at Brum is certainly not a game to capture the imagination but one that we should have no fear over. Here’s hoping for our name being in the hat for the fourth round - ideally not with “or Birmingham City” attached. 5 Quote
JHRover Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Not great but Birmingham better than horror journeys to Reading, Cardiff, Swansea, Brighton, Bournemouth etc. It's easy to get to, usually well priced and winnable. Could be a lot worse. 1 Quote

Looked for all the world like there was at least a Lancashire derby in the offing for a good while . I want sure whether I wanted those tw4ts or not as we got down to last four . As it is I feel like it’s the worst of all worlds playing them twice in little more than a week . Still it was a cracker at their place earlier in the season !!!!!! Not . Quote

Personally finding it hard to get excited about that draw tbh. 2 Quote

Personally finding it hard to get excited about that draw tbh. I want to get as far as possible in the competition and am more than happy to get through the first couple of rounds playing unattractive fixtures against sides below or alongside us in the tables. The closest we have been to Wembley in 2012-13 we had boring games against Bristol City and Derby, we then got the 'glamour' game at Arsenal, beat them but then fluffed it at the QF stage against Millwall. Husky Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Crikey! What a shit draw! I think Brum are one of those teams people would have forgotten to put on the worst ties we could get list. Craphole of a city too. Absolutely nothing good about that draw. 1 Quote
oldjamfan1 Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Crikey how must Tim Flowers be feeling right now!? Quote
Claytons Left Boot Posted December 2, 2019 Posted December 2, 2019 Would have liked Man Utd at Ewood. Think we could have given them a scare. Quote

Sadly, we know only too well what that feels like.. Are they Rovers in disguise? But back on topic, a draw at Big Club isn't a disaster, and is in some ways preferable to a higher profile game against a Prem Club or a banana skin with a (relative) minnow. At least this way we can either progress or exit the competition relatively quietly and without it becoming a major talking point (except of course for the usual suspects - 10K plus posters who clearly have nowt better to do with their time!). So, bring on the Brum and let's just treat it as shooting practice for our erm 'strikeforce' COYB Edited December 2, 2019 by WIR Second Coming 1 Quote

Birmingham city centre is alive and kicking and has 4 / 5 “districts” if you will all catering to different markets. Chinatown, Brindley Place, Digbeth, Broad St, Digbeth and for the artsy amongst us Moseley although that’s a tad out of the way still well worth a visit. The market has been taking money out of my pocket at an alarming rate this year. Living in it means it’s almost impossible to get home without a stein, coupled with the fact most pubs are serving German pints at £3, means it’s been a week of ever-so-slight hangovers. Obviously this fixture is after Christmas and unfortunately the festivities will have ended but no doubt still a city well worth visiting 2 Quote
